You know I (still) remember well, the days when I would take myself off to the City Ground thinking not are we going to win today, but more how many are we going to win by....in that 1977/78 season, it was a real novelty for Forest to ever concede a goal....and even on those rare occasions when we did, it was never in doubt that we would score at least one...two...three or four more

Those were the days

The real magic was to be found at those midweek European Cup games; eagerly awaiting a succession of foreign exotic clubs, that we then beat 6-7 nil!

The atmosphere inside the ground was electric!

Don’t think we ever beat a European team 6 or 7 nil, but we did best Zurich Grasshoppers 5-1 I believe in a midweek European Cup tie

Oh....and the reigning European Champions were given. 2:0 beating too - Colin Barrett’s 90th minute volley still goes down as my most momerobale goal of all a time

How much do I remember that! But they were special times for sure. I (we) will always have those memories...

I seem to remember beating some Turkish team either 6 or 7 nil or perhaps they scored a consolation goal, I will have to look it up!

According to a vid on YouTube we didn't play a Turkish Team, but we did beat AEK Athens 5-1!

Yep you’re right it was AEK Athens we bean 5-1, not Zurich Grasshoppers as I had previously mentioned

Anyone else remember losing 5-0 at home to Valencia in the ICFC when entry to the competition was by invitation. Early 60s.

Anyone heard what the injury was to Brice Samba’s hand on Saturday? Looked very painful.
