Jose doing well again today.

I've never felt so detached from the club as I did in the latter part of Jose's reign. Sure, as a team we've been worse at times but that was the worst period I've experienced supporting this club.

I see a lot of Spurs fans are having that same experience now. The man is poison.

Speculation can be carried out like this by those - like myself - with the nous not just to folĺow but to innovate, and those - very present on such forums - that are simply ovine.

That being said Moyes was probably the most likely to have re-formed the squad post SAF (given the time). He certainly made some very wise starting line up choices (from a limited squad)

Jose is now more of a cup-club coach than a league- club manager, LvG was only ever a temporary idea anyway and Ole has not got the guts to make truly radical (but very necessary) changes.

Whoever, returns this club back to it's recent glories will need the same (or similar) set of circumstances as those that surrounded SAF's early tenure.

Five years (minimum), a policy of plundering the strongest players with experience of top-flight northern European football, fix the, very broken, academy.

Externally, some changes to the game that were as revolutionary as the introduction of the EPL and ECL (and favoured a set-up as well as united were at that time) would also help

I blamed the players (along with Jose) for a lot of it. Even now I have almost no respect for most footballers (some exceptions), but along with Jose they were very, very culpable. Bunch of overpaid thick children most of the time, downing tools when it gets a bit tough.....

It was pretty damned dark during the later Jose days and the enjoyment was zero. Ole brought back a lot of good mojo, and I'd like to see what happens after the summer break and he gets HIS 11 out on the pitch.

a couple of cups where everything went his way overrides all the negativity he brought.
