I was wrong

I thought that the team had stopped playing for Poch. I was well aware that there were a few who either weren’t good enough or getting past it. But I thought that the whole Kane in CL final and Poch’s subsequent reaction to that loss had caused problems with the team. I know we’ve been on the downward since December 2018, but I was of the opinion that he’d lost the players - maybe he had.

By the time he was sacked, I was keen for him to go. Mourinho is the best manager we could’ve expected to get. I live in Manchester and have grown up here, and I rinsed all my (Utd) mates about how he was past it and out dated when he was with them. I was well aware we weren’t getting 2004 José - but his stick had sunk sufficiently to come to us and we were in the mire.

I was absolutely clear that Poch has never been properly backed and I really thought this summer would see us really go for it in the transfer market. We didn’t.

However, I Don’t think I have enough credit to Poch until the last few months. He saw this coming. He knew:
Vert
Rose
Eriksen
Dier
Needed replacing and I agree.

But look at the stand he took with Toby. He knew he’s done. Look at the goals we ship.

I think Ali should be ed off too.

I reckon he told Levy and Levy just ran a mile.

We are a mess. It won’t change until ENIC are bought out which isn’t happening any time soon.

I’ve seen some shocking Spurs sides in my lifetime but this shower leave me so depressed - I don’t know why, think it’s frustration.

Anyway, I was wrong about how damaging this summer was and I’m 100% sure Poch knew it would be.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, but Maurinho is a dinosaur too, all his set up tactics are so negative not working to the strengths of the squad which is defo not defending

You should sell Ali. He’s been poor for 18 months and looks a shadow of his former self

problem is we dont have many homegrown players anymore. Not enough coming through the academy getting games and some that have are not turning out to be good enough.

It's depressing because of the good position we were in 2 years ago. The way to fix it is going to be painful but manageable.

1. Sack Mourinho so Mrs Mou can keep shopping at Harrods.
2. Appoint no2 until the end of the season
3. Bust a gut to get the best DOF possible. I would go for Ralp Rangnick
4. Appoint a new manager in the summer based on DOFs advice. Must be positive, progressive and ready to get stuck in on the training ground.
5. Summer clear out begins the rebuild. I like what another poster said in sacrificing under performing big name. Alli for example to fund 2-3 new additions
6. Back the new DOF to get it right over the next 3 years in the transfer market. Levy needs to loosen his control freak attitude on the football side.

I don't expect any of the above to happen it's bl**dy frustrating when we already had so much in place before but let's move on and do a proper rebuild. I don't want Mourinho any where near the future of our great club.

What do you expect to get for an 18 month crap Alli?

Couldn't have said it better myself mate. The through-line here is: have a thought-through plan, and carry it out

We should never have sacked Poch, Mourinho will win us silverware IF he is backed properly, which he won`t be, so the buck stops with Levy and Enic as always.

Think Pochettino's reign came to it's natural end regardless. Was like Klopp at Dortmund, no matter how good the manager is the players can only take the same way for so long before either burning out or growing complacent. Give this squad to a fresh Pochettino, one unburdened with player fatigue of his methods, and I'm sure you'd be in the CL spots comfortably this season.

I know being a fan during unsettling times you see things from a cynical prospective but your squad really isn't that bad, your just reeling from the aftermath of a regime that was finished before the season started & transitioning to the next one. Even if you did no business during the summer I'm sure you'd still play better next season than you are now with the same players.
