Rudiger, why??

Rudiger basically accusing the authorities, our club, fans of being incompetent and racists. Spurs have nothing to gain in covering this up and
it’s clearly in our benefit to ensure any bigotry is rooted out of our club.
I for one am disappointed in the tone of this article.

Based on the comments I have seen on here and social media it seems pretty clear that people are angrier about him reporting racism than our player kicking out at him. It's not something we can ever confirm but I know where I think the motivation stems from

It may add more fuel to the fire, but if there was no accusations of monkey chants, he would have been booed in the last game because of the Son thing. 100%.

I'd also say that booing him on the racism accusation isn't racism itself. It was a serious and unproven accusation which was clearly not appreciated by some fans. Sure it may make him feel uncomfortable and isolated but what does he expect from the away fans? A hug?

It contributes to a culture where black players are discouraged from speaking out about racism, when they're going to be booed and villianised when they report racism. I imagine he expected no less, but was probably hoping that the fans would understand that he was doing what he was supposed to and had made an honest mistake.

he said racism won. which implies no indication he feels he was mistaken.

I interpreted it as him saying racism wins when you shame players who report racism incorrectly because it will lead to players not being comfortable reporting genuine incidents due to a fear of being mistaken

I'd say most people would have no problem with him being booed had there been no accusation because that's what happens in football.

To boo after an accusation is, at best, ill judged. It opens football up to the idea that calling out perceived racism isn't acceptable if it's against your club. Some will believe he was booed for one reason and some the other. But fans rarely actually take responsibility for their part in football and it's environment, they just complain about the authorities not doing enough.

To stress the point I made earlier, this isn't about Spurs fans - I believe he would have been booed in the same scenario by any set of fans.

But at the same time he is drawing the conclusion that he is being booed for the racism thing alone, which may not be the case. Like i said he was booed after the Son red card. He has total focus only on the racism issue, is making a massive deal about it which is fine BUT in his latest "racism won" statement he completely ignores the extensive efforts made by THFC and MET to prove his accusation. His complete failure to acknowledge these efforts and the seriousness with which he claim was dealt shows in my opinion the slightly self obssessed nature of this guy. His statement "They never get punished. In the end, I'm the scapegoat" is also firstly massively inaccurate and again focused on him and his assessment that the booing was on the racism issue.
I am sure that those working to reduce racism at football will not welcome his comments which state that no one is ever punished and implies that actually little effort is being made to address the issue.

I was just following up on this, where we were working under the assumption that the boos were due to the accusation

I have no time for him. I think his latest statement is ill-advised, inaccurate and serves no positive purpose whatsoever.
