Bruno's position

We have already have a few discussions about whether Bruno will play as a no.8 or a no.10. Everything I have read says that at Sporting he predominantly played as a no.8.

I think that with the uncertainty over Pogba and him and McT missing, it has been difficult to be sure where Ole sees Bruno fitting in long term/once everyone is fit. However, after the game yesterday he gave a pretty clear indication of the areas that he sees Bruno operating:

"The fans are used to players with that personality, mentality and quality," added Solskjaer. "We have got the number 10 position nailed down now. He is a big piece of what we are trying to put together."

It was also interesting to see how much emphasis Ole put on the importance of Bruno's addition to the team. I have felt for a long time that the right creative midfielder would make a huge difference to the team. We really needed someone to tie it all together. Still early days, but it now looks like we have that player. The lad just oozes class. Although he will likely be on his way in the summer, I am hoping that we get to see McT, Pogba and Bruno play together. I think they could be a really strong 3 if Pogba has got his head on the game. His return could give us a real lift coming into the final few weeks of the season.

We need a CB, winger and CF before another AM

If we had a capable man for the job that dealt with getting transfers done we wouldn’t have to sign them in the exact order of priority. If a player comes up in a position like Grealish would play, and Villa do go down, we shouldn’t let him go elsewhere just because we have 2 other signings to make first.

Would prefer to see how Tuanzebe comes along before buying another CB anyway. Guy looks class to me and will be perfect as the RCB in a three.

I disagree.

Especially with the fres involved nowadays.

Realistically, a top club will bring in 3-4 signings tops per window. Why would you go and do half your budget on a player you dont need, only to be able to complete deals in the positions you needed?

You’ve added another factor that I haven’t even mentioned.

If I’d have said ‘I’d get Grealish if we had the chance, even if it meant using up our budget so we couldn’t get our other priority areas signed’ then you would have a point.

Yep, we need to have a proper look at the lad to see what he can do. I think that he would already have cemented his place in the team if not for injury. I am also interested to see how TFM gets on after his return from injury. Always thought that he could at least be a useful squad player/utility man.

Then we have Megi coming through, who looks like an absolute beast. Probably going to need a couple of years before we can even think about him being a first choice CB though.

But signing Grealish would obviously put a sizeable dent in our budget and xould hinder our ability tonher the players NEEDED

Grealish will only come in if Pogba leaves. So that more than covers his transfer fee.
