Granit Xhaka

Amazing the performances a footballer can deliver when they stop taking things for granted. Watching Xhaka play under Arteta, I doubt a player has made me feel more proud since watching Ramsey come back from his leg break.

It is a compliment to Xhaka's mental fortitude but more than anything Arteta's outstanding ability to get the best out of players. Early days but in terms of Man management Arteta is showing amazing abilities and none more so than Xhaka. I admit that maybe Xhaka has to take credit for the areas of improvement, especially not getting caught on the ball and cutting out the errors. Maybe like Mustafi, Xhaka has lost credit with the fans but he is presently one of our best performing players and a very good passer, even more lethal in the position Arteta has deployed him.

Long may it continue and its a sure sign that in Arteta we have not have a Pep like tactician but judging by how he is loved by the players both at City and at Arsenal we may have the young energetic progressive manager we have craved for so long.

Xhaka has been amazing since Arteta's arrival, if he can keep with this form whole next season he would be my first pick in midfield. Funny how things can change in 2 months.

Got nothing but respect for Xhaka on this. All the work in the world from Arteta couldn't make Xhaka choose to stay at Arsenal to redeem his name. That was sheer character on his part. Many another player would have just bottled it off elsewhere in a sulk. Not Xhaka, HE told the booing fans to feck off! Then promptly and successfully has set about showing on the pitch why he didn't deserve what he was getting. Power to him, more players should have that much about them that they refuse to leave fans feeling that way about them.

Fully agree about the "Since Ramsey's leg break" sentiment, seriously enjoying Xhaka playing well. Almost as much as he appears to be enjoying it, dude's even hugging the opposition he feels so good

In all fairness this is the best period of Xhaka at Arsenal. Start of season till Arteta arrival was also his worst. He’s got character. For that I’d keep him. But I do also think he’s never going to be amazing. He’s like Henderson, surround him with good players and his leadership and character can be extremely useful.

"Xhaka has been amazing since Arteta's arrival"

our standards are so low these days

Agree. “ amazing” is a tad over the top.

He has been decent at best since Arteta,s arrive. Fewer yellow cards and misplaced passes.

An all action midfielder with pace is still a priority in the summer.
Wish we could clone Fernandinho. What a player.
