Bolton Wanderers v Accrington Stanley

Groundhog day. Another localish derby, another game against a mid table side with little to play for. The first meeting of the clubs at Bolton. Accrington Stanley who are they? They are the team that spanked Bolton 7-1 back in November when there was hope after 3 straight wins to go into positive points. Since then the rot set in although February started with a win against Tranmere and with the new signings Bryan in particular there was a glimmer of hope for survival. 5 straight defeats later that is gone. Team news. Liam Edwards injured his knee in training and is out for the season aling with Will Buckley. An update from kh in the week. Darcy out, brockbank ill, faal another training ground injury. Kh has found the bingo machine which parky used last season so expect anything today.

All change at the academy. I don't suppose that it will affect the number of youngsters coming through if it's handled correctly. It is said not to be a cost-cutting exercise but I'm sure that the inevitable savings will be needed when we enter league two next season.

We don't yet know which staff will be departing but I fear for the likes of Lee and Phillips they have given good service over the years and it would be sad to see them leaving. We will have to see what FV decides on but the saving of salaries seems inevitable.

If you are in Horwich today and spot a lost Georgiou wandering around lost point him in the direction of Lostock it might be wise to point out the sick bay while you are at it.

He's there and expected to be with the team on Saturday.

Here is the latest on the academy shake-up.

Is there any truth to the rumour the academy is being closed to make a bigger sick bay? My word we don't half pick up a lot of injuries. Bryan and zouma are injured now too. Good job we stocked up on centre backs in January. No fitness coach at the club so that needs sorting pdq.

I thought that when we teamed up with the University of Bolton that all the medical and fitness side were going to be sorted by them. At least that is what was intimated at the time. Or, am I wrong again?

Benny, at least we will have Ronan Darcy back on Saturday. That is of course if he doesn't break down during training today.

Think the Uni of Bolton link up was for access to their state of the art training stuff. Some of which was fitness related I believe. Evidently we're using it wrong.

Or they aren't as good as they should be.
