Is it time to give this guy a run in the first team?
I know the standard of opposition wasn’t all that but I think Mari put in a basically flawless performance last night. Can’t think of any defensive mistakes or wastefulness in possession. I know Mustafi has played well recently but you just can’t trust him. He’s guaranteed to let you down when you need him most, see the Chelsea game where he was one of our best performers yet managed to get Luiz sent off.
Mustafi is pretty much the epitome of Arsenal, play well under no pressure but collapse when the chips are down. I’d like to give someone else an opportunity who was at least brought up in a winning culture and after last night’s performance, I think Mari should get a run in the team now.

Looked calm and composed and commanding. Good performance but was hardly tested. He got 90 min under his belt which is good.
Agree in Mustafi. Want him sold in the summer. He is playing well at the moment but that doesnt make up for all his mistakes in the past. It's good that he is playing because it's maybe easier for us to get rid and to get a better price for him.

I want to know why Holding isnt getting any game time. The fact he is on the bench shows he must be fit enough to play if needed, but the fact he isnt being used as a sub at all is baffling.

May have been worse opposition but can only play against what comes up against you
Be interesting to see him more this season. All other games he will play in will be harder

Have to agree - right now I don't feel like he should be dropped, but I've felt like this before in the past only to end up horribly let down by him. I'm sure it will happen again.
Would like to see Mari starting a few more games, but he will have to wait I imagine
