Wolves v Brighton Preview

Date: Saturday 7th March
Venue: Molineux
Kick off time: 15.00

On Saturday Wolves welcome Brighton to Molineux. For the Wolves players the game will come after a rare 6 day break, having played the 3 previous games in the space of 8 days.
Those 3 games brought 6 Premier League points with a home win against Norwich and an away win at Tottenham and in between, an aggregate win against Espanyol in Barcelona to carry them through to the final 16 of the Europa League.

Wolves currently sit in 6th place in the league, equal on points with 5thh placed Manchester United and just 3 points behind Chelsea in 4th.
Forward Diogo Jota has hit a rich vein of form recently having scored 6 goals in the last 3 games in all competitions and back to back hat-tricks in the last two Europa League games.
Mexican striker Raul Jimenez has scored 22 goals in all competitions so far this season. The 13 league goals that he has scored puts him in the top 8 Premier League strikers.

Brighton who currently occupy 15th place in the table have yet to win a game this year.
In the reverse fixture in December, the two sides shared the points with a 2-2 draw. Since that game, Brighton have played 14 games in all competitions achieving just one win, a 2-0 home victory against Bournemouth on December 28th.

In their previous game against rivals Crystal Palace, Brighton enjoyed 67% possession and managed 23 shots with 8 on target but despite that, lost the game 1-0

After sitting near the Espanyol Ultras, and in the Spurs corporate area(lovely bar by the way), I can shout as much as I want tomorrow from my lofty North Bank perch, and bought this afternoon ticket for Olympiakos because as Oldgoldilox says they have become available to lower points holders like us, it’s a busy and exciting time, would not be doing this unless I had not become single, (after a long marriage) anyway the teams confidence must be massive and Nuno must surely instruct them to come out of the blocks quickly early doors and get that first goal for a change

Brill, well done mate. Next round hopefully.

Football stadiums are no place for old fogeys like wolfie and sandy. Better for the clubs as well as they get full price for their tickets. Win, win.

What about the Crystal Palace manager ?

Yeah, exactly. What about him?

Well done Romain Saiss. He has now gone ten games without a booking, the longest he has ever gone in his career

Jonny not back for Wolves today and maybe absent for a few games yet.

With Man Utd and Chelsea not playing until tomorrow, Wolves could go 4th tonight if they beat Brighton. Chelsea have a one goal better goal difference than us at the moment so we will have to win by more than one goal to overtake them

I had a word with him after you moaned about the number he was getting. Maybe I should have a word with Ruben as well.

Over 70s may be banned from matches during the Coronavirus outbreak
----------------------------------------------------------------------

If we can just extend the ban to them driving in rush hour and at weekends then I'll be all for it.
