Liverpool

Invincibles - Gone
Winning record - Gone
Unbeaten record - Gone
Treble chances - Gone

Lost more games than our treble winning side.....It's February

They are going to win the league but if they go out next week then what an anti climax for them this is going to be til the end of the season.

Adrian deserves fvck all.

Start Alisson and Salah last night and I think we have a FAR better chance of going through. I think it's counter intuitive to be chopping and changing the team at this stage and will lead to inconsistency.

Regardless though this is a pattern of behaviour and Klopp simply does not give a fvck about the FA cup and seeing it is so hard to get back to Liverpool at that time of night from West London I'd be exceptionally fvcked off if I have traveled.

Agree. However it wasn't a complete rotation, it was slight rotation which Klopp would have believed was enough to win.

Thought it may have a chance I suspect but didn't really care.

As the league is wrapped up now I'd have thought playing your strongest teams in games where there is pressure on (like last night) would stand you in better stead in the CL.

As counter-intuitive as it seems keeping consistency and intensity will help with progression in the CL. If you rest too many players I think it'll actually work against you.

Robbing has got it spot on here.

I do think Klopp shows a great deal of disrespect to the fans who go to those games by putting out such a weakened team.

We had such a great chance at doing the treble, considering we can rest players in the league for the remainder of the season, basically giving the game away at Chelsea was a huge error of judgement.

Don't get me wrong, I love Klopp and hugely appreciate what he's done for this club, but his attitude towards the domestic cups frustrates me.

Last couple of seasons, with a close race for 4th or in a title race, it's forgivable. But last night just proved that he just sees the whole thing as an inconvenience.

I agree Diafol, we saw in last years CL final what three weeks rest did to performance for both sides.

I think this time last season there was a sharpness to Liverpool's play which resulted in them doing what they did in the CL. This year, with them being so far in front, it could impact their ability to retain the CL.

Once momentum is lost it can be difficult to get it back. You'll still win the league but having doubts going into the Atletico game isn't ideal. Win that though and you're obviously back on track.

I don't know, we had consistency all season then lost 3-0 to Watford. For me the players needed that kick as the last few games complacency, which is to be expected, set in. We were winning games in second gear for a few weeks. The big Anfield night in Europe can't come quick enough.

You know your team better than me so I won't dispute what you're saying. All I'd say is that playing the players in intense games could be better than resting them too much. If it were up to me I'd have wanted them rested at the weekend in the PL rather than in an FA Cup tie at Chelsea.

No - I agree with what you're saying and sometimes when you're on your toes you play better and concentrate more. However when you have such a big lead, complacency can set in. This blow couldn't have come at a better time for me. I expect Anfield to be buzzing for the European game and the players to come out fighting, with a thrilling win to set them back on track.

TOOR. You could well be right. Maybe a kick up the backside is what you need to go again and will help you in your CL defence. We'll see next week. For the record I do think you'll go through but wouldn't put my mortgage on it as I think it'll be tight and just one mistake could make all the difference.
