Talksport saying Kiko should be

Sacked.

Then have Trevor Sinclair talking about it and agreeing.

The same Sinclair, who drove while hammered, peed himself in a police car and then racially abuse a police office.

The same Sinclair who is a wife beater.

Am defending Kilo, and have zero complaints if he was sacked but...

Bottom line I’ve Got to agree with talk sport.
Holes all over the defence.
I’m actually surprised they didn’t ban Roberts for a game or 2

I’d like to see Kiko told behind closed doors that we don’t want him at the club any longer and will find him somewhere to go close season as a compromise rather than sacking him and making it grow bigger

Not gonna lie kebab, that seems overly harsh to me. Yeah, if he's said what he's said it's deplorable and there's no place for it anywhere, not just at the football, but I think the fact it's already been deemed 'out of character' and in the heat of the moment has to count for something? I think the racial education part of the punishment is a great idea, and something maybe all clubs should be looking at going forward.

To us and all citizens of the UK it just seems like something everyone should be aware of, but with the Suarez incident and the numerous occasions we see black players targeted in places like Eastern Europe, there is clearly still a big issue. As unsavoury as all this has been, it would be great if this turns out to be the point whereby all clubs take the issue more seriously in regards to educating all foreign players who come to these shores. It surely can't hurt.

Great points. Also very correct that maybe some of our Football imports need some form of training in racial respect. Certainly parts of Europe have major problems with racial abuse.

As for Kiko. The one reason the club won’t sack him is because the FA has said he’s not racist. That might be a cop out from them so he wouldn’t sue - because there is no actual hard evidence he is.

Time to move on. Accept the punishment and Kiko and the club learn from it.

As for talksport - only Hawksby and Jacobs are worth tuning in for. Rest is crap click bait.

"Talksport is what it is to be fair.. you can actually enjoy it if you don't take it too seriously... love the bantz to be fair"

When I was younger there was a show on English tv called The Comedians!..

Maybe they have people from that show writing their scripts for them!..

That's if there's any still alive!..

No offence, but in a couple of comments white privilege is showing and its frankly disturbing. "Let's move on from this now".... club haven't even responded yet. Have you actually read the BS Kiko had for his defence? Do you know what it meant for an Asian or black man to stand in the stands at Elland road in the 80s?? Do you know how far we have come?? You are making out like Kiko has just spilled his cuppa tea.

Come April, the true measure of where the club is at, its values and what it stands for, will be judged not on promotion to the top table, but on how it collectively responded to, and spoke out against racism. Would be shocked if Kiko here next season

The club's and Kiko's attitude sit uncomfortably with me. I would have been much happier if he had acknowledged the behaviour from the start, held his hands up and apologised to the player, and to both clubs. Then I would feel a rehabilitative approach would have worked. But everything in his demeanour has been disingenuous, and the club have followed suit. His denial of the charge and the reasoning behind it are so ludicrous, you wonder why the club took him seriously and supported him in the first place. Surely they would have seen the referee's report? Surely his lawyer would have questioned him about what was alleged to have been said? Sometimes, you make a mistake and you have to put your hand up and say sorry. Leeds, and Kiko, are showing no signs of this. If anything, we are seeing an underlying defiance of all things FA. Understandable, yes, given our past dealings with them, but these circumstances are different and we have, in my view, emerged with little credit from the incident and its repercussions. No amount of restorative practice is going to change that.

Spot on.
The defence was a disgrace with several parties coming out looking bad.
The statement from the club was poor.
The silence with regards to leeds fans attacking Leko online is shameful.

Really really disappointed.
Kiko should never play for the club again.

Again, great comments. Had he done this then i would have supported the player through the rehab process. The shambolic attempts at denying it just makes me want to wash my hands of him. Didnt think much of the bloke when he disappeared down the tunnel after the Derby game. This takes it to a different level.

It's a difficult topic to discuss. I don't think anyone needs to be accused of "white privilege". I don't think that's valid.

Some great discussion of what is a horrendously complex problem.

It's not true that the club have been entirely shifty: the head coach condemned racism in general and stated clearly that any player suffering from racist abuse deserves universal support.

At the same time, he was compassionate enough to take care of Casilla as he believes Casilla is a decent human being. We have to forgive him for this "anomaly."

And on the other hand, yes, Afridi, there is of course still a great deal of work to be done and I appreciate your position entirely - which is why I think Casilla should not represent the club again and has to go at the end of the season, if not sooner. While he is our player, he deserves our support and forgiveness - but he can never merit our trust again. Using that word is bad enough but we need a solid keeper for this crucial home stretch and he's left us in the scheisse good and proper!
