West Ham manager David Moyes says the Carabao Cup should be revamped as the "British Cup" and include teams from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
"Call it the British Cup. A couple of teams from Northern Ireland, maybe two of the Welsh League clubs. That would give us something different."
"Maybe there's a way that a certain amount of Premier League teams wouldn't enter. I understand the fixture pile-up and there are an awful lot of games for the top players."
--------
Sounds like a good idea. Many other nations have scrapped their equivalent of the League Cup and have lessened the workload on the players. On the other hand it does give an opportunity for young players to get first team experience that they may not otherwise get.
What do you think?
EFL Cup => British Cup

Just don’t involve Premiersip teams.
Even the bottom clubs put out weaker teams in the league cup.

They could replace them with teams from Scotland, N. Ireland and Wales.

Wonder why he wants Scottish teams involved?!
It’d be pointless bringing in teams from other countries, not like it would increase the competition is it?
If they want to revitalise the domestic cups, try giving more prize money for a win or final appearance than coming bottom 6 in the prem. Play semis at neutral grounds, not two legs or at Wembley etc

Bottom 6 in the premier league make about 100mil.
League Cup winner gets 100k.
They’re not gonna increase the prize money by 99.9mil

Would just be another game that Moyes could lose.
I’m all for more West Ham embarrassing defeats.
