Bournemouth 0-1 Leicester City
Lautaro Martinez (Thiago)
A dogged Bournemouth side made it difficult for the possession based Leicester City who dominated the ball but were frustrated at times. But Leicester’s setup made it very difficult for B’mouth to ever create any sustained pressure in their half. Breakthrough just as the second half started with Thiago having some beautiful intricate touches and finding the clinical Lautaro Martinez.
Tottenham 2-0 Newcastle
Aguero (Eriksen), De Bruyne
Walkover for Spurs as Newcastle didn’t turn up.
Manchester City 2-2 Southampton
Saint-Maximin (Gnabry), Lewandowski
Rashford (Aouar), Rashford (Nkunku)
Southampton had most of the ball in this one as City lacked players who could control the game high up the field - Rashford had plenty of service and against a young defence, the youngster himself played with confidence and maturity. However S’oton defence didn’t have a great day, their back five weakened by injuries and it was noticeable, also Richarlison and Pulisic didn’t help the defence enough and so City grew into the game and Lewandowski netted a late equaliser.
Norwich 0-1 Portsmouth
Dubravka (sent off)
Ronaldo (Bruno)
Both teams without a win in their last 5, equally just 3 losses between them. Portsmouth controlled possession but Norwich threatened on the break, Cantwell hitting the post. However Portsmouth’s pressure created a chance for Abraham who was bundled over by Dubravka just outside the box – red card. Then about 50 minutes in Bruno swang in a perfectly placed free kick met by the powerful head of Cristiano. Felt Portsmouth struggled down the right with AWB attacking game limited and no natural width to support him, this meant AWB was forced higher than he was comfortable, making Cantwell a threat for Norwich. Norwich had a nice balance to their team but ultimately Pompey had better quality all across the pitch and the red card helped and was not decisive in the victory.

Liverpool 2 - 3 Chelsea
Hazard (Sterling), Kane (Sterling) ; Mbappe (de Jong), Werner (Neymar), Werner (Gosens)
Chelsea dominated the game. The home team were set up similarly and sought to control possession which failed. Their midfield struggled, but when they did get the ball to the wide men they caused Chelsea real problems down the wings. Chelsea were stronger all over the park, dominating midfield, seeing through the game plan and more than deserving of the win.
Wolves 1 - 1 Arsenal
Haaland (Reus) ; Auba (Coutinho)
Two well drilled and even teams, Wolves with a stronger defence, with real quality for possession play. The home team built on this and with the fans behind them had more of the play and looked more likely to run away winners. Arsenal though had a bit more quality for breaking down teams in the final third and a tenacious midfield which kept them in the game and always lol I’m like they could create. Both teams very strong subs saw neither take the upper hand. The game was a little more likely to swing Wolves way but ended a draw
