I think all it proves is the nature of the Champions League - a cup competition where the team that wins it isn’t necessarily the strongest team on the continent, despite what some people would have you believe..

Last night showed that it’s quite easy to beat Liverpool at Anfield in the league: you just have to take the game to extra time.

I think this is article is nonsense and I'm not a Liverpool fan. 4 times out of 5 Liverpool would have gone through - a combination of rubbish goalkeeping from Liverpool's reserve keeper, supernaturally clinical finishing from Atletico Madrid (a one-off) and bad luck for Liverpool in finishing meant that they went out.

Over two legs Atletico did more than Liverpool to win it and thats why they won it, thats how it works!
