Champions League vs Premier League

The gap in quality keeps getting bigger between these two competitions.
This week has also highlighted just how cr ap the PL has been this season.
Liverpool virtually untouchable in the league but have generally struggled in the CL this season.
And with Spurs being completely outplayed and dumped out by Leipzig , while Chelsea took an absolute beating at home the other night at the hands of Bayern , the gap in quality this season between our league and the CL is pretty wide.

People are thinking about names of clubs and the big four rather than actual players and teams.

Utd currently 5 up. Chelsea have an incredible record if they score first and have certainly given us our toughest games, I rate Wolves, Leicester have had a bad run but full strength are very dangerous.

Put our top ten against any other leagues top ten and the Premiership smashes them I reckon.

Look at the strikers that teams outside the top four have. Auba, Kane, Richarlison, Jiminez, Martial.

Bit better than the days of Beattie, Rebrov and Vassel imo.

City have had a troubled season with UEFA and injuries.

United have an inexperienced manager who seems to have started the momentum rolling

Chelsea were subject to a transfer ban and a new manager.

Arsenal also have had a change of manager and the Emirates seem less toxic.

Next season will be far more competitive.

Troubled season with UEFA? Off field yes but onfield?

Injuries? Oh diddums.

Getting all the excuses out tonight!

I doubt it. Think it will be the reverse of this season. Liverpool will have burnt themselves out and will have a season similar to city’s this year, thus allowing a more motivated city team to easily win the league.

Assuming corona doesn’t cancel football permanently that is.

Bayern have changed manager so they cant be any good and they've always had a terrible record in London anyway.

I’d like to know the seasons when all of the top 6 have been on form and challenging for the league?

As far back as I can remember it’s been two teams challenging with or rarely going to the last day, or one team walking it.

There’s a lot of nostalgia going on here barking back to the days when the league was supposedly stronger.

3 of City's 4 PL titles have been won on the last day of the season.

Looks like we'll have our 5th different winner in 10 years.

What other major league could boast that?
