Coronavirus - a very british response

So the government advice is to self isolate if showing the slightest symptoms. I have 2 issues with this.
1. has it not been established that most people are infectious before showing symptoms?

2,the presentism culture in the work place and the very british attitude of wanting to seem unphased means most people turn up to work even when they are half dead. I am sure many here have seen people cough consistently and proclaim it is not corona.

I will rather go through 2 weeks of inconvenience, social distancing, and reduced earning if it might means one less person might die, let alone hundreds. But our government thinks it is too early to take this measures. My question is would Italy have taken these measures knowing what they know now 3 weeks ago, and why are we not?

You've only two issues?

I'd say people getting £94.25 for the week would be the main one. Nobody is going to lose out on their wages due to a cough for that.

Work is a different issue to going to sports events, concerts etc. Which is what I was referring to.
On the work issue, plenty work alone or in sm groups. Some employers will take the cho out of your hands, some will carry on paying you.

RDD. The problem is that if décide to go then it's not just their problem if they get infected it's that they will infect everybody they meet over the next two weeks. Including those who were public spirited enough not to go

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not saying people should go. My point is people should have the sense themselves to decide not to attend.

Can you choose whether you can be infected or not?

I see this is a waste of time

Yeah, because hours and hours on a football forum is usually a good use of sometimes time.
