Scottish leagues

Morning troops.

Looking increasingly likely that the Scottish leagues will be the only league to go ahead this weekend, i can't make out if it's stupidity or sensible giving the current low numbers in Scotland....

With Mikel Arteta testing positive last night and Callum Hodson Odoi testing positive this morning, the EPL have announced a meeting this morning, where it's expected they will suspend the league.

Is it going to take for someone in one of Scotland's clubs to get it for this to happen?

Partick Thistle released a statement last night advising that they have been informed this week is the last where fans will be allowed in and all games thereafter will be behind closed doors.

If that is the case then we're obviously hoping to at least get the games before the split finished, 3 games if you include this weekends. I'm not against that idea but how do fans see the games? We can't go to the pubs because that's just flooking pointless from a medical POV.

It'll be interesting to see how the next 24 hours pan out across the UK, it now appears to be finally hitting home to the people in power that drastic action needs to be taken.

Suspend all domestic football until April, we an easily get the games played in April and May if we manage to get this thing under control in the next 3 weeks.

Absolute @rse ferrets in charge of this union.

Thing is, 4th April, it may still have to peak with the virus, we should go with the German plan if the league can’t be finished
----------------------------------------------------------------------
whats that?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No champions or relegation but extend the league but having more teams promoted from the championship
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not a chance in hell will clubs about to take a financial hit agree to sharing future spoils even further.

Can’t see it. Also can’t see the league being completed at all now so it’s a simple choice of void it completely and all as was or take the standings as they are.

Come beginning of April what’s going to have changed that will make all the clubs in the country happy to just pick up and carry on? Nothing.

so we promote but don't relegate ?

I assume you mean bring up 2 teams and not 1.

a 14 team league

so 3 x 13 games + 6 post split = 46....

I think..

Sounds difficult to fit in.

Do we then have only relegation the next year?

I don’t really know I just wanted to plant the seed

I expect you are correct.

Not for title reason but for relegation I would imagine making the season void would be the call.

Harsh on Dundee Utd right enough
Harsh on Celtic as well

Cant see the SPFL forcing Hearts down in a void situation.

14 teams 1 game home/away = 26 games

bottom 8 home and away = 14

Top 6 " " " = 10

Relegation to be sorted out.

People will have changed. They'll have moved on a couple of phases and might make subsequent decisions easier?

Sensible solution if it can’t get restarted is league finishes as is.

Celtic are champions, Hearts get relegated, Dundee Utd get promoted, and Morelos get 2 red cards added to his total.

Or equally believe they have been fed a line and really start to panic that there is no end in sight.

Imagine if the season doesn’t finish and we decide to not relegate but promote as was suggested by Elite. For what would be Celtic’s 10IAR season there would be 14 teams in the league and 46 fixtures. True there might be more meaningless fixtures come season end and the prize money would be less per club since there’s more clubs. But less repeat fixtures, fewer visits to the same grounds. The games would have more meaning as teams have less chances to go toe to toe. It could be something interesting.

Seems fair seeing as rangers tend to lose to the diddy teams and only raise their game against us
