It wasn't Cardiff, it was the agent.

The pilot’s body was never recovered. I think it was a case of him not having been cleared or certified for night flying.

Think the player himself arranged it.

You think...or you know...?
This has never been clarified has it...

I actually find it incredible that both of either of the club's involved haven't ensured that a £20m asset hasn't been correctly transported from one place to another...!
Imagine a painting or similar at that value being sent via the likes of DHL or parcelforce

I think it is a little complicated. Afaik there were several parties who were involved. Mark McKay acted as an agent for Nantes. Mark's bother Jack was a Cardiff player and through there father former agent Willie McKay they contacted Dave Henderson to organise a flight to Nantes and back. Dave Henderson sourced the pilot. The plane had several faults and probably because the pilot's lack of night flying they got into difficulties on the way back. Lessons have to be learnt and things have to change. But it is a tragedy for the families of those that died.
ps this is my own summary and it may not be 100% accurate.

It kind of fits scenario wise....i.e. lets create a situation whereby too many people are involved, it's cheap & nobody is overall responsible
The classic outcome
