Regarding promotion and relegation, whichever way the Premier League and EFL decide to go, there are going to be winners and losers. So it's a case of finding the solution that is recognised as the fairest – and this is it, in my very humble opinion:
If football hasn't resumed by the end of the natural season, in each of the leagues, the top two go up and the bottom two go down, and we scrap the play-offs. This, in effect is a compromise, but one that is infinitely fairer than seeing teams that are clearly out of their depth in their respective divisions, being given a stay of execution at the expense of clubs more worthy of being in that league. It's only logical and, as an example, let's look at League One.
TOP:
Coventry – 67pts (with a game in hand)
Rotherham – 62pts
Oxford Utd – 60pts
BOTTOM:
Tranmere – 32pts
Southend – 19pts
Bolton – 14pts
So Coventry are nailed on to go up while Southend and Bolton are as good as relegated already.
What is called for is a recognition that you won't please all the clubs but that the most important factor must be a sense of fairness.

Ha, just noticed I started out talking about legal minefields and then suggested an unfair solution! Shows how this thing has blown my mind. Should reflect before posting!

German model seems fair apart from what do you do with playoff teams?
So my solution based on theirs:
No relegation from any league.
Top two promoted in each league.
Third to sixth have play offs if possible but if not just draw lots or flip a coin. I remember winning a cup like that years gone by. Fairs Cup? They are a bloody lottery anyway.
Prem has three extra teams = six extra games per club. I’m sure they will cope for one season. Then relegate six next season to balance it all out.

It’ll be a tough pill to swallow, but the only sensible solution that wouldn’t end up in court is for the whole season....nationwide to be cancelled and every single team given the same, blanket treatment - that is the only possible, legal solution
You just cannot make exceptions for 1 or 2 teams because of where they stand at present - it would just be ethical to dish out certain privileges or punishments to a couple of teams - the only way to deal with this will be a blanket, national cancellation for EVERY team - and write the whole of this season as null and void
Sorry, but that will be the only option

It would just NOT be ethical*

As someone just said the fairest solution is just play out the remaining games (wiv no fans) and get it over wiv. It doesn't really matter ow long dat takes.

I just had a brainwave that would sort the whole thing out!
Fifa 20 head-to-head matches online for all teams!
MB could have them all training on their PS4s at Thorpe Arch every day just in case...
