My partner's a doctor, just left about an hour ago for 24-hour duty today at the general hospital in Tenerife where most of the confirmed cases on the island have been put in isolation.

I teach English for some of the doctors there. One of the students I had class with on Wednesday was sent home yesterday to self-isolate after very close contact with a confirmed case. Already a fair number of hospital workers in the same situation.

Schools were closed down on Thursday, pretty much expecting a full-scale lockdown in the coming days if not hours, but we've already been advised to avoid any kind of social gathering.

Our youngest is in bed, just regular cold symptoms and a small spike in temp yesterday evening. Probably nothing, but having to take precautions around her.

The basic idea going round is that we're almost bound to get this sooner or later, just best to try and dodge it for as long as possible because hospitals in some places are already stretched beyond capacity and other areas of the country are more than likely to follow.

Had a headache the past couple of days, but no temperature or cough.

Still got it, but nose is playing up now and but it an itchy throat but still no cough or temperature so most likely just a wee cold

Taiwanese experts suggest doing a simple check that we can do on our own every morning:
Take a deep breath and hold your breath for more than 10 seconds. If you successfully complete it without coughing, without discomfort, a sense of oppression, etc., this shows that there is no fibrosis in the lungs, indicating essentially no infection.
In such critical times, do this check every morning in a clean air environment!

Woke up with a sore throat, going to go on a 6 mile run see if that blows it away.

I've got a a sore head and slight feeling of sickness, but I suspect that's more to do with being on the drink last night.

Remember, nowhere has it been said sneezing is a symptom, so if you're all bunged up and sneezing you've most likely got a plain old cold. Should still stay home from work anyway, pandemic or not.

Most likely we'll all catch the virus at some point, some of us won't even know it's happened. We just need to smooth out this wave while we all build up the antibodies to fight it next time around.

I reckon I probably have a mild strain of it. Fever like and shortness of breath. Will never know though as they wouldn't test me. I'm not really fussed about it just don't want to pass it on to elderly so am staying in
