Traynor out?

A DUP councillor is to swap Belfast City Hall for Ibrox after being appointed as head of communications and media relations by Rangers.

David Graham will resign from his position on Belfast City Council to take up the newly-created role at the Glasgow club.

Graham was special adviser to Education Minister Peter Weir before the Stormont Assembly collapsed in 2017.

"I am delighted to be joining Rangers," the former teacher said.

"As a lifelong Rangers supporter, it is an honour to work for the world's most successful football club. When the opportunity arose, I was very pleased to fulfil this role and am looking forward to getting started.

"I am excited by the board's vision for Rangers as we work towards our 150th anniversary and beyond."

Graham was elected as a councillor in May last year and represents the Balmoral Ward.

Rangers managing director Stewart Robertson said: "David shares our vision, passion and enthusiasm for the club.

"We are delighted David has chosen to join us and strengthen our team. He is a welcome addition and I look forward to working with him."

Seems to be a nice chap

or they could just do the decent thing and fold.

i take it its rangers who want the prize money dished out on current league positions then

Not a chance unless everything was taken as being “finalised” at this point. Can’t pick and choose what suits.

Accept where we are or hold everything until it can be finalised (my preference). I don’t mind interim payments to help struggling clubs but nothing more than the worse position they could potentially and mathematically end up in. For Rangers that could be 5th place. After all, we’re being told anything is possible.

People with expectations of any outcome of tomorrow's meeting need to read this https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51912634

I suspect they are going to phanny about for months before coming to any conclusion? This is all about UEFA and saving THEIR competitions.

All these meetings and I don’t expect any decisions to be made. It’ll all be “let’s wait and see”.

I just can’t see this lockdown going on longer than 3 months. We’ll be through the supposed spike and any longer then their won’t be anything of an economy left.

The whole planet will go into meltdown with their economies. That would have a much more dramatic affect.

Now I understand why some posters were so keen to welcome him to Rangers.

They must be very close to the end now.

Don’t be silly. The new investor from Japan is waiting to plough in his £20m before buying out Kings shares.

You know. Into a non moneyed league with scant rewards. With a club desperate for cash. In a period of lockdown with no end in sight.

Well they need the money now, so cough up. Time is of the essence.

Plus, of course, they are Rangers.

At least they think they are.

If they go bust if will be to deliberately stuff creditors. King could go down as the guy sinking his club twice! How much bad luck would that be?

It can’t happen though because he said "The present value of the squad reflects a significant uplift of £55 million pounds over our book value and the projected amount would yield an uplift of £103 million pounds if it eventuates.“

Eventuates
