Well done Gary Neville, Giggs and Chelsea

Great gesture, fair play. Not sure how much it will help, but good to see
Branson can go fack himself. Even his supposedly well treated staff must think he’s a tw@t.

My hope is that when this eventually ends, consumers remember who were the good guys and gals

True. And kudos to them for doing it, but if you were cynical you’d point to the fact they won’t have any bookings anyway, and probably doesn’t cost them all that much to offer it. If you were cynical.

I’ll just celebrate it as a really nice gesture from them. There’s been a lot of that going around, and I feel we will need a lot more. Fair play to every one of the nhs staff on the front lines, a national treasure.

This is the kind of thing that will help the U.K. beat this.

Earlier today I read of a couple of Brewery’s that have stopped Whisky production to make the alcohol needed for hand sanitizers.

That's a great gesture

I read a similar story a couple of weeks back in South Korea whereby the company that makes Soju was doing similar for those affected in the nearby region. Donating large volumes of Soju to be used as disinfectant for affected areas.

In regards to the BBC story about Neville and the NHS staff - brilliant to know! Earlier, I read that Chelsea are also doing the same down at Stamford Bridge hotel. Mr Abramovich

At the time of reading, I did think to myself why isn't Hotel Football doing the same? But kudos to the owners!

Credit to NHS staff. Underpaid, undervalued and putting themselves out there. Credit too for the teachers and school staff that continue to provide a vital service to the communities they serve. Teachers and school staff will have a vital role to play, even though schools close for education as of Friday.
Never under appreciate the role these people play to the wellbeing and health of the people they have chosen to serve.

I've always appreciated and value those that commit their working lives for the general public from the public emergency divisions.

I understand that they go through extreme pressures to ensure the public's wellbeing is prioritised. Sadly for them, the government hasn't always had their backs.

But they do a tremendous job, and are always worthy of salute.

Teachers and school staff don't get enough recognition for these tough times that the nation (world) is suffering from right now. They are the backbone foundation of this country's future and they're trying to hold it together while working in a surreal scary environment.

Indeed Bayben, though it does seem schools are a little to eager at times to have a bit of extra time off, speaking as a parent. May well be misguided on that one.

The nhs though, I have nothing but the best of respect for, teachers too, anyone who’s providing a much needed a public service under strain.

You may well be a little misguided regarding schools and their staff. No surprise though, as the majority of their work goes under the raydar. I’m in the education system, and the amount of unpaid voluntary work teaching and school staff do is unbelievable, and invaluable to society. Trust me when I say that in the months to come, these people will play as vital a role as NHS staff when it comes tog and looking after our most vulnerable in society.

My missus has been a Nurse since I met her.

She has always worn a Nurses uniform to go to work. With a bright red cape 'Carry On' style in the old days with a pork pie shaped lacy hat that she had to make origami style from a stiff flat, starched piece of linen with a wet tooth brush before EVERY shift, that took her at least 30 mins each time to prepare. But it was expected that she did.

Nurses uniforms have changed over the politically correct years and now its trousers and tunic, and no stupid hat or red cape. But still identifiable as a nurse.

She has now been deployed on Boris's front line starting of next week. I was shocked to see her new uniform. Not a hint of Benny Hill anymore. But a sealed white one piece uniform with integrated boots and sealed head and mouth piece... and as a senior respiratory specialist she is detailed to triage, identify and treat affected and suspected virus affected patients at the special clinics they the NHS are hastily converting for them.

She will be highly at risk of contracting this virus herself. But it is a job that somebody just HAS to do. Which means that myself and my family are now also at risk.. and then everybody we meet... and so on.

She has not been offered alternative accommodation to live in whilst she is on her 'mission' and is expected to go home each day to us and then return each day. What G Nev is doing with his hotels is wonderful.

Boris calls this a war. In the past soldiers, airmen and sailors fought our wars. They even received medals for bravery.

I doubt our nurses will be rewarded with anything like or such glamorous accolades in this war.

I can’t say I disagree with regards unpaid work for teachers, they all have an unsustainable workload teach all day, with what 1-2 hours to mark during work hours? Not surprising it’s taken home.

My gripe is the fact they seem to think that every family has one stay at home parent, who’s at their beck and call. It’s just not the case, and a lot of oeople have busy lives that are hard to disrupt at tines, when the school calls to say your child had sneezed a couple of tines, only for you to drop it all take them home and see they are fine. I also can see the schools perspective, but from my own perspective it does seem like they take the piiiss a bit too.

That said, I totally agree that they will play a massive part in the time to come, and don’t want to seem ungrateful for I really do appreciate those in the education system, not as much as nhs staff, who have to take the full force, but a hell of a lot.
