Premier League

Evening All - I have been thinking about the end of the season and next season as there has been so much talk about this season being Null and Void. Anyway, if we think about this rationally, there are only 9 matches left and therefore this can be held over 4 weeks. For instance, we can all play on Friday 17th July with the last match being 16th August. All matches played on the same day with all of them available to view on either Sky or BT. Play weekend and midweek, basically every 3 days. Then start the next season in mid-September, scrap Carabao cup and two international breaks, this will make up the 4 weeks lost. This maybe complicated by UEFA wanting the CL/EL completed (will need the league to restart in June) or if the lockdown is longer than 3-4 months. What do you guys think, is this feasible?

Can’t see it, football can take a back seat for a while, we’re in uncharted waters now, never seen anything like this in my lifetime, probably never will again

If these games need to be played in November and December so be it. Null and void is not the answer this far into the season, finish as is not the answer either. If next season has to start in February, summer break for Euros and finish the season in October. Would also work nicely into the World Cup in 2022.

Summer footy would be lovely, I think August is realistic looking at the turnaround in China

Season is done. No football this calendar year in my opinion. All this talk about playing in June or July is just fanciful nonsense.

The whole country is in lockdown, and people talking about footie being played again in a couple of months time. Get a grip.

As I've read many times, it's doomsday and it will always be doomdsay.

Especially to those who've nothing to play for and those in danger of relegation.

What thes epeopel don't want to admit in their abject pain is that their attitude could lead to the collapse of the football strucutre in this country.

Precidents exist.

World war 1. a 4 year delay Our great grandfathers fought and died.
wolrd war II a 5 year delay. Our grand parents, fought got bomded and died for freedoms we enjoy.

1962, a severe winter delayed football by 3 months. the season was completed.

1989. a tragedy occurred and while Liverpool were given some help they were still forced to play all remaining game (8 in 23 days) to protect the integrity of the league.

My view is today we will hear more which will be at minimum a suspendion extension to may. Could even be to june. There is no reason why fit young footballers can't kick an artificial pigs bladder about to entertain poeple locked in their homes at the higer levels but my view is the CL and europa are dead ducks until next season where some mini tournament will be done.

It is my strong view however that the game as a whole is going to be hugely damaged at the lower tiers if it is not safe for corwds to pay to watch.

we need to get all of society back to work ASAP after we take the right and proper actions to protect all. that included footballers.

Best of wished to you all, especially the elder members of JA606 who are going to be very scared of this.

so we are all sat on our sofas. Well i am still expected to go to work and to work, some are less fortunate.

Peoepl need to just get a bit of a grip now and first look out for the important thing that is the reduction of the impact of this virus in the next 2 months.

after that we need to bring normality back ASAP to get peoepl back to work.

Talking about not being able to complete a minor thing like a few football games to suit agendas is rather silly.

Especially if its karen brady's agenda.

It is unitl the leagues all meet today and tell us what's going on.

I am of the opinion that every club up and down the country in the football league and below will be looking at the need to play out those remaining games and the next season right after just to take in revenue to offset this disaster (for their businesses)

If the premier league is different then whatever but it won't wash really.

BREAKING: Premier League confirm that there will no games played until April 30 at the earliest. FA Board has agreed that the season can be "extended indefinitely" with the plan to complete the 2019/20 campaign when it's safe to do so (James Pearce)

Quite simple statement effectively.

nothing short of seeing how it goes. Its very clear this is not going to be gone by april 4th. so moving out another month is only sensible. and I assume in another couple of weeks we will see.

the other part is showing clearly "a commitment to finding ways of resuming the 2019-20 season" and completing all domestic and European matches "as soon as it is safe and possible to do so". that TV money is a huge part of this.

If anyone noted now tv half price deals. Sky will be getting mass cancellations shortly. people will need to get a months notice to get sports out and sky will start screaming for football and sort soon. Thats big business for you.

I'm just surprised the morons have not already contacted customers and frozen the sports payments for them so they can turn them back on rather than losing people.
