Patient 31

Anyone read about this?

Patient 31 in SK refused to be tested and caused the outbreak of Corona infections.

South Korea had learned from the SARS epidemic and managed to control Coronavirus from spreading, only 30 cases, until patient 31, a religious woman, part of a cult, refused to be tested and went to church and brunch in a hotel and set off a major outbreak

Mental. Straight from a movie.

A combination of religion and cult is not good for society

There was also a guy in Japan, who was treated positive, and before they could isolate him, he left the hospital and went into to bars interacted with people and told them he's infected. The police were called and he was taken away.

I think that one was due to him calling up and them telling him to self-isolate rather than testing him. He got annoyed so went around infecting people.

They should have shot her when she refused like their cousins in the north would have done.

This is why a complete lockdown doesn’t work. You don’t build any sort of immunity to the disease and it only takes 1 person to infects 100’s of others. Looks like South Korea are back to square one.

There won't be any immunity built. Otherwise half a million people will die.

They are working on a vaccine. Therefore it's about delaying and reducing the spread, until then.

Whilst I abhor organised religion (rather than believers themselves for they know not what they do) I don't think religion is the problem here.
If Patient 31 was holidaying in Benidorm I fear a similar outcome...
