Season End? Carry On? - Sky/BT Will Decide

The idea that The Premier League will make a decision based in fairness, or sporting integrity is fanciful nonsense.

Sky and BT Sport will decide.

If they hit The Premier League with financial penalties should they not complete the season, which not only can they, but the penalties are mind boggling, then if they have to compete in Hazmats the Clubs will vote to carry on.

If however Sky & BT look at it pragmatically, then 16 Clubs will vote to end it now, void it and prepare for the future in a calmer more measured and organized way; something all businesses want and need...

You're right.

Reality is boring sometimes.

SKY and BT are pushing for football to be back as soon as possible. They're losing millions a month. There is pragmatism when it comes to the amounts we're talking about. SKY and BT will and are pushing for games to be played behind closed doors as soon as possible.

Uefa, the PL, and the FA want the season finished as well
It's the least complicated route to take when its safe to continue

Not a chance will the leagues be voided.

They'll be played to conclusion at some time in the future and if necessary the following season shortened (no replays etc)

If we were only a few games in then yes but the leagues are over 75% complete in most cases.

Let's say Professional Football returns in October, and by that time Bielsa is Real Madrid's Manager, Klopp has taken over at Bayern Munich because he wants to be near his family, and 6 of Juventus players have died.

Are we really talking about the same season?

Again, reducto absurdum, guilty as charged...

Yes.

It's the same club.

Players and managers change all the time in every club. Nothing new there. Reality is though that none of what you suggest is likely to happen and the leagues will allow contracts to be carried on for the additional time required and then fall back to the January window.

Whatever happens this season will always be tarnished. I just hope they do what is best for public health and not what is best for entitled fans and pundits sofas up and down the country.

Just announced by the FA that no football will be played until 30th April at earliest and season will be continued indefinitely until all fixtures have been played, including all cups.
