Football addiction

It’s a fair assumption that most of us on here are addicted to football - what other forums and online sites do we spend as much time on as this? (Dink will say Brazzers but he’s an exception)

The football season may not be back until perhaps something as late as the Autumn - by that point does anyone think that the addiction will be broken? Most addictions pass over time. I’m sure we’ll all be excited by the footy coming back but perhaps by that point it may not feel like the same. I’m certain none of us will have waited for football as long as this in our lives (by the time it comes back)

Watched my fair share of marble racing this week too, always find myself rooting for one hanging around 5th place to push through the field. That’s the post Fergie United fan in me.

Lived my life around the football season. Not until the the fixture list is published I can then plan my year.

Yes although I am probably an addict, its more of a Man United addiction. In fact outside United I don't really give a stuff about football.

I wouldn't say i'm a footy addict, especially since leaving the UK it's harder to stay in touch with it. It certainly is a regular check-in though, on the BBC app, reddit, and here.

What's doing me in is not the lack of games so much as the lack of distraction from the news. I think going forward a (un)healthy addiction to FM may be on the cards.

I feel the same way I did the day Ayrtoun Senna died. Such an F1 freak, I just couldn't watch anymore. Still not really back into it.

Same now with football.

Something's are more important. Remind every Scouser of Shankly's idiocy, at every opportunity.

That isn’t meant as a slight to the OP by the way.

I used to play 4 games a week at my peak of fitness and was in the gym playing 5 a side when not doing that. I would then be talking about football non stop in the pubs after the games and then fit in watching United in any spare time I could find.

I would never have found time for the internet back then.

How'd you cope when you get too old VC?

I play about 4 times a week now, but with all the turf pitches involved I can feel my knees creaking come Monday. Only issue is that come halfway through the summer, I actually dream about playing. End up two footing the Mrs in the middle of the night.

I guess its a good outlet for a lot of energy and aggression but I dunno what to channel it into when I'm not playing.

I used to play 3 or 4 times a week when I was younger.

Now I have kids and both energy and spare times are distant memories
