His prevarication and nudging instead of calling for a full lock down a week ago has most likely caused more Coronavirus infections than were necessary. The man is a balloon and a blustering buffoon.

The two weeks is touted because you responded about two weeks later with measures compared to other countries.
Also, the fact it spreads quicker in South European countries and the Netherlands is that they/we kiss someone when greeting. Patient 1 in Holland came back from Italy with the virus during Carnaval and the dude was confirmed going to the pubs. Hence the North-Brabant county has the most cases, 50% of all cases.
Another difference is that the UK started testing later and does less testing, so you don't know how bad your situation is. In Holland they also do not test all persons with symptoms. Anyone with mild symptoms is told to self-isolate.
Angelo Borrelli, an Italian government official, who is serving as Head of the Civil Protection, in Italy said that the number of infections is 10 times of reported cases. So the actual number in Italy would probably around 600,000 infections.
I am expecting to see a sharp upward curve in the UK over the next week.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Would then also expect the same in the lowlands.
Sounds like the way of reducing spread were the same.

Two weeks earlier?
We keep being told that the U.K. is two weeks behind.
Are the way the NL is dealing in line with the U.K.?
Seems to be some competition in how nations deal with this and how many have died. Effing crazy.

FFS. Ahead, behind!!!
Some strange point scoring on death rates and when things went on lockdown.
Loads of people are going to die, yet people are blaming the date of the called lockdowns?
I have been in a self enforced(guided)12 week lockdown for a week and my partner has left her job to help protect me.
So the socially awkward brits should be at less risk, without the emotional greetings and kisses that have laid large parts of Italy and Europe under a covid cloud.

Nothing to do with point scoring. Just talking about when measures were put in place. Words to explain where someone took action on a timeline are "behind" or "ahead". And it seems I was right. UK is going towards its peak now, when Italy, Spain, Germany, France, etc, have left the peak behind them.

Seem. Still as the first case was weeks behind Italy and Spain, it would be expected to be following the same trend they have been seeing, just delayed.
