Who should leave in the next window?

Whenever that window is.

I’m going to split it into definitely should leave and maybes

Definitely should leave:

Lingard

I’ve defended him in the past but he’s not good enough. He had a really promising run in Jose’s 2nd season but has gone backwards since. Been poor since the start of last season. Nothing against him and he gives his all but we need better even as a squad player.

Pereira

He’s had 2 seasons as part of the first team picture following 2 pretty average seasons on loan in Spain but like Lingard isn’t good enough. He shows the odd moment of magic that makes you think he may become a good player but they are few and far between. Can probably still have a decent career elsewhere but don’t see him having an impact here.

Jones

Again had his chances but not good enough. It’s obvious Ole has lost faith too. He’s not an awful player and actually think he could do well for a Burnley or a Palace if he stayed fit. it’s best for all parties if he moves on asap.

Sanchez

Disaster of a signing. Was very poor in his season and a half here and hasn’t pulled up any trees in Milan either. He will be hard to get rid of with his wages but even if we have to continue to pay some of it we would be better gettting rid. Past it and doesn’t fit in to what we are trying to do.

Maybe should leave:

Smalling

Always thought he was a good player and apparently has been very good in Rome. Not sure he’s first team material but could definitely play a squad role if he’s happy with that. Wouldn’t be heartbroken if he did leave permanently though.

Rojo

Almost made the definite list but I’d keep one of him or Smalling as selling Rojo, Jones and Smalling would leave us short especially with Bailly and Tuanzebe’s fitness issues. Rojo isn’t bad but has too many crazy moments and is a bit of sicknote also. I’d keep Smalling out of the three but we may sell him as would get the biggest fee.

Mata

Way too slow to be a regular or play in big games. I’d probably keep him for one more year as he can still offer something against the lesser sides and is better than Lingard and Pereira and is a good character to have. Also seems happy with a bit part role. Wouldn’t be overly upset if he does go though.

Dalot

Some may see this as controversial but he’s done very little since signing. Spent a large amount of time on the treatment table and when he’s played he’s been mainly average. Brandon Williams has done so much more in a shorter period of time. With AWB ahead of him it’s hard to see him breaking into the first team and Ethan Laird is also coming through. I’d give him one more season but again wouldn’t shed tears if he does go.

What would be your list of definites and maybes to depart this summer?

Bet they offer Pereira and Lingard for Grealish

Only way to get rid, can’t see anyone buying them

Mightn’t actually be a bad deal for Villa.

Seriously?

Obviously Grealish is better than those two but if he is destined to leave then Pereira and Lingard could do a job there.

In the championship maybe

I’d bring Smalling back and try and Get Digne from Everton and send Shaw their way.

Sancho will take up a lot of our transfer budget so buying a cb wouldn’t be my top priority.

I know Matic will stay, as will Shaw, but I think they should both go, which was what the OP asks.

Pogba is in a bit of a quandry now. Fully expected him to play exceptionally for the last five games and have a cracking tournament for France. Not sure who'd pay the money anyway but it could work in Utds favour. His career is dwindling, he needs a season where he leaves it all out on the pitch.

Lingard, Pereira, Jones and Sanchez (pending wage obstacle) should be the first lot on the list to leave.

Read Smalling wants to turn his loan to a permanent move.

In Defence : Jones and Rojo. Smalling if he wants to leave.
Midfield: Pereira and Lingard. Pogba if he isn't committed.
Attack: Sanchez.

That's about 5-7 players to leave. 3 of whom are already out on loan. That's not including Gomes, who seems like he will leave.
