It’s too weird

No footy
No pubs
No family or friends
No cars - but driving is an absolute pleasure. .

What’s everyone up to? What’s your daily routine? My life hasn’t really changed, work (a lot) home to the Mrs & kids, everything in between is just....quiet, even when I already live in a village that’s normally quiet.

Weirdly, not thought about footy that much. Just seem to be too busy checking on people and making sure they have everything they need.

Just been for a ride around Askham Bryan with my wife’s car due to it not being used for a while.

One thing I’ve not missed is all the bloody potholes!

Did about 2 miles, crossing the A1237 which is part of York outer ring road. Saw two other cars and two lots of two people out walking.

Eerie to say the least. First time out of our street since last Monday.

Going into North Yorkshire the police have issued guidance. They can stop you and ask if your journey is essential.

It was - I don't want her brakes freezing up

The upside of being in N.Yorks is no fixed speed cameras.

Must agree. I don't intentionally speed but the odd occasion I'm sure we all do. It's reassuring to know you aren't going to get caught out for missing a speed sign in an area you don't know that well.

Its one reason I don't like driving in West Yorkshire - Wetherby is our nearest speed camera I think.

Should be interesting next Thursday.

We have a click and collect booked at the only shop we could get one - Tesco in Thirsk - about 20 miles away. We booked it well before the lockdown.

To be fair we haven't been to the shops for almost three weeks now so I guess we are due a trip.

Obviously I will take our receipt with us and hope eating food is classed as an essential journey if we are stopped.

Yes we could probably join the queues at our local Tesco but as we are both mid 60's now we are doing our best to stay away from anything that might put us at risk.

Stoops, yes I'm sure we all do.

you lot know me and I'm always on here like I am in life in general, try not to take things too seriously and have a lark whilst I'm at it! However I do hold certain respinsibilites which I hold and think others should too, but, again, some things are from personaly experience. Being a responsible father is one for me, and responsible driving too.

I have had a friend killed on the road, my cousin died in a bike crash on the road, my nephew was lucky to survice a crash where he was speeding in his modified car! and most recently one of accuaintances (wouldn't say 'freind' as such' has just lost his 6 year old daughter, she was hit by a car doing 43, on a 30. they say if the driver had been doing 30, she would of lived.

think about a jouney of 20 miles... the difference in arrival time is about 2 minutes when you're doing 30, rather than 40... is it worth the risk.

think on ! - stick to the speed limit!

I wouldn't even bother with click and collect, most of it will be missing or swapped for something you don't want. Most the supermarkets are fully stocked and very quiet now.

Still a big risk, not only standing in line but entering a shop where others are/have been.

We are doing ok and will risk the ride out. I understand they just drop it in your boot for you. We shall see.

A friend actually got a Tesco delivery in Tuesday and she only booked it Monday. Some slots just came up as she went on the site.
