UEFA - Again

Manchester City are in hot water with UEFA again, just months after their alleged Financial Fair Play breach landed them with a two-year European ban.

This time though, the offence is something far more trivial after they were slapped with a £2,650 fine - because a tiny sponsor logo slightly exceeded the 20cm limit.

This kit, that City wear for the walk onto the pitch and while the Champions League anthem plays, has a tiny Marathon Bet logo just underneath the club crest.

Any sponsor logo on the anthem jacket must be smaller than 20cm, and UEFA have adjudged that City broke the rule, and they have now been fined.

The €3,000 (£2,650) payment must now be made within 90 days or City risk feeling to wrath of the European governing body once more.

Is there such a thing in a governing body for sports or an arbitration service?

Maybe not, but fines are fines and this looks like a good opportunity for Uefa to step in and do their stuff

Well not really. The ones below the National League have been voided but the National League itself is just 'suspended indefinitely'...which is no different to the top 4 leagues' current status.

Interesting though that the Scottish RFU has cancelled their season, with one team having already won their league now having their record totally expunged.

It does beg the question of why other sporting leagues are happy to void seasons which are further on than the 80% status of our football season with minimal protestation, yet football seems to have a completely different mindset? It's money motivated obviously, but I can see the public perception towards football changing in a very negative way the longer this whole thing drags on.
