Key Workers.

Hi fellow key workers. How is it going?

Seems there are a lot of articles about WFH and lockdown isolation, so about time we had one for us.

So, key workers, introduce yourselves. Let us know how the pandemic is affecting you and your work. Any gripes to air? Feel free.

For my work, orders have increased as countries look to stockpile. A fair few people have had to isolate for either the short term 14 days or a few have the 12 weeks so that has increased the pressure on those of us who remain.

Working 6 hours a day still getting paid for 8.

An a bit disappointed the local Timpsons isn't open, thought they were key workers.

Work for Welsh Gov's business support team. Still going into the office as Mrs DC isn't well at the moment so working from home is a no no. This is the busiest I've ever known it in terms of enquiries. Pretty much answering queries from when I get up to going to bed.

Not complaining though as many people in far worse situations.

Morning Babyen. How are you? Hope you're keeping safe too.

I'm OK thanks but just pretty bored. I'm still working and taking the dog for his evening walk but the option of going out for a pint/meal has gone and I do miss my football (both watching and playing).

Pretty much sure my summer hols will have to be cancelled as well so not much to look forward to. On the bright side it seems we're avoiding most of the worst of it up here but there's always the danger that the influx into Snowdonia a few weeks back could come back to haunt us pretty soon. Hopefully it doesn't!

Everyone is going to have so much holiday left over once this is over (or lessened).
I've been told that we will be able to carry over holiday for next two years though.

I carry loads over as it is. We get quite a bit more than the minimum. I'd gladly give some of that entitlement to those health service staff at the front line if I have loads over.

In the grand scheme of things me not going to Gran Canaria this year isn't the end of the world. However, I was looking forward to it as not had a proper break since September! Never mind.

We won't, royal mail are refusing to carry more than the Normal 5 days over, use it or lose it, and its leaving offices horrifically understaffed, i would rather we weren't working in the current conditions though, our leadership has been woeful, no ppe, early doors they refused to get hand sanitizer and PDA wipes in, measures only started last week to distance in the office.

We have also been gagged on social media. With postmen and women being threatened with the disciplinary procedure if they don't remove critical posts from facebook.

Junior hospital doctor (medical registrar) coming off my third consecutive 12 hour shift out of four today, seeing new admissions. Sh!t has hit the fan here. Every other chest x-ray now has the all too familiar bilateral viral pneumonia.
