Just had a run in with Eurostar

this morning. Typical big company not willing to bend the rules, despite the Coronavirus.

I had a trip booked on Eurostar to Paris for two of us for 4th May this year cost £137, so obviously with the Coronavirus and being told not to travel, I decided to cancel. Eurostar response, you cannot cancel, but you can have a change of travel date. So as it was only a leisure trip, I pushed it right forward until September. They then charged me a further £140 for a change of travel date. And even then travel may still be restricted. So I could end up losing £277, because they will not give any refunds on cancellations.

This is so typical of big companies, exploiting the situation for their own gain. Needless to say this will be my last ever Eurostar trip. Anybody else having trouble getting money back from trips booked or with travel companies .

I think it should be brought into law, that full refunds should be given during this Coronavirus Pandemic. No Ifs, No Buts.

Sure why does the year matter Sandy I’m by your other logic it was centuries ago

Well it doesn`t really, but you put 1964, which shows you don`t know a lot about your own club. Poor show really mate. Every Spurs supporter should have it indelible in their grey matter for evermore that Spurs were the British first club to win a European Trophy in 1963.

Aye ok, sure it was centuries ago and I wasn’t even born.

If you used a credit card for the booking you can get your money back by disputing the charge.

Gotta say that's unbelievable, Sandy!
Even worse than United Airlines ..... which is saying something.
They will allow you to re-book during Corona Virus times at no extra charge.
Frankly, I'd sue the basstards for a refund.
If you can't do that, then write to the Newspapers.

I already have a couple of letters drafted mate. If they don`t work, it will be local MP, then the papers.

Same here. Family holiday ( 7 people ) booked for holiday in Amsterdam in May. Obviously cancelled and the hotel fully refunded, without the slightest quibble, within 2 days. But the train tickets....absolutely no chance of a refund, the best we could get was a "voucher" allowing us to travel at a later date.

To me this is clearly going against the government travel recommendations, not to mention blatantly ignoring the fact that many countries have closed their borders to "foreigners"

We even had this with Buckingham Palace of all places. Had booked a tour of something there, together with a separate visit to the Saachi gallery around the same date. Both cancelled. Saatchi gallery refunded tickets without us even asking, but Buck Palace would not refund and, again, only offered an extension of the tickets, even though we made it clear we did not wish to go in the current climate. I guess that is why Queenie is so rich.

Is penny pinching at it's worse. This and other stories coming out, like the Mike Ashley situation is now showing certain people's true colours. Would add Branson and Levy to that list.

Just got it confirmed, money back from the holiday park. They wanted to give a coronavoucher first, but I told them to stick it or would take action. As per law, they have to give your money back if they dont provide what you paid for. Period.

Just wait until the restrictions hit your trip and then you will get your money back.
