I'm not embarassed at all. They are not key workers and will still be getting paid for doing sweet FA.

Yes paid by the government's scheme to help companies that could go under. ours have no need to use it. Look at their books.

If every company uses it the ironic thing is its us, Joe public, that will spend decades paying back the money these huge, multi million pound companies have used to prop up their figures.

That's my point. Pl players are taking no money from me directly but my tax will be used to pay back the deficit from this scheme. As I said on another article it''s no different to rich people claiming Universal Credit.

If clubs could pay their stars nothing for not playing and get away with it I'm sure many would try. They won't. Cos they would lose their most valuable assets.
It's all about money. Even in a time of crisis. That's what I find sad.

Spurs paid £45m in tax the last 2 years which is £20m more than anyone else in English football.

Now I’m not saying it’s correct they use this scheme or not ( btw it’s only used for 40% of non playing staff not 100% like it’s being reported ).

Seems weird they have paid so much more. Was some of it attributed to stadium costs/planning? Noting spurs have hardly been ripping up trees with their transfer outlays, and don't have the highest costs , be curious to know why it's that much higher.

It's also mad to think the lady at 365 paid 100 million+ in tax in one year 😅 imagine that on your payslip lol

Perhaps there should be a points ban for clubs that furlough non playing staff before cutting playing staff costs?

Maybe 12 points similar to clubs that go into administration?

An MP pay cuts would free up very little. Most of them are only on £70k a year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s not how they make their money.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

No, but you can only take a "pay cut" on salary income... What you seem to be asking for is for them to surrender non-salary earnings.

Why should football businesses be treated differently to others?

McLaren have done the same so has plenty businesses up and down the country.

I bet more football clubs earn less profits ( if any ) then other businesses who people won’t complain about.

I assume we had to show a lot more income to get bigger credit facilities from the banks.

High income equals high tax bills.
