Wow.

And Nicola Sturgeon seems to think it’s absolutely fine for her to keep her job.

I am no SNP supporter.
I wouldn’t vote for Nicola Sturgeon.
What this woman did was stupid and arrogant.

But changing horses midstream is a bad idea. Whatever you think of her character, she’s been in all the meetings and she knows the detail of the organisation. The time to initiate another into the role is a luxury we don’t have. Sturgeon’s right on this.

What a load of nonsense Dunge - she can be part of a thorough and detailed handover to a more trusted person. This woman has put other people’s lives in danger on two separate occasions and her actions risk putting thousands more in danger by sending the completely wrong message to the general public.

She can continue supporting in the background while someone else steps up to the plate

She works in a team that would include a deputy medical officer by the way. It’s absolutely feasible for someone else to take on the role - but Nicola Sturgeon is focussed on political damage limitation

Ok - that's a point of view. So, what about the Royals?

And what about Boris and Hancock? Both of whom preached to everyone but obviously didn't, because they both tested positive, observe the 'rules' they were preaching to everybody else.

Not saying it reflects well on her, but this is not the time for recriminations. The more upheaval you have at this time, the worse it’ll be.

As for the royals, I don’t know your view on the monarchy and republicanism but I think taking the elderly monarch somewhere safe - and her staying there - is entirely understandable. Remember that even if she’s not important to you, she’s important to many, many others in the country. Hence why she’s about to have an address to the nation played.

As for Boris and Hancock, there are certain necessary risks I’d expect them to take given their stations in order to manage this crisis as best they can. Just because they contracted it doesn’t mean they were exchanging high-fives as soon as they got into the cabinet room. I mean, we all take a slight risk every time we go out for a walk or to the supermarket.

They’re in government FFS, trying to navigate the country through its worst crisis since WW2. Parliament was still in session in early March. It’s hardly the same as nipping over to your second home in Fife for 2 weekends in a row

Fair enough yeah I understand that. It’s unprecedented times. Which makes the Scottish chief medical officers actions all the more appalling

Apparently they caught it ripping their shirts off in parliaments and chest bumping
