Why is there a weird number of people who almost seem angrier that the club reversed the decision?

They always were renting it for free. The NHS were going to cover the cost of the utilities but now that’s being covered too.

On Liverpool, they’ve done the right thing now. I have to be honest, I do find it odd though that football clubs get so much stuck for this when other companies with far greater profit to revenue margins get off free from doing exactly the same. The company I work for is not furloughing any staff and has said to anyone that is having to self isolate for 12 weeks that they don’t want the to work from home and will cover the entire period on full pay.

It is being abused already across the spectrum.

Fair point there Melton. Unfortunately I’m not clever enough to figure out if our company falls into that bracket.

They made a mistake and how now rectified it. Good. Now let's move on. It's strange seeing United, for once recently, coming out of this with the PR looking like they've done well.

That's the thing though. It's PR.

PR is rarely about doing the right thing, it's about being seen to do the right thing. The motives are usually very different.

Because we'd all like to know what the other suspiciously quiet clubs whispered into Liverpool's ear to make them stop embarrassing themselves.

silliness.

theres 15 other clubs who've now gone and ran for the fills as they had holing patterns looking at spurs and Liverpool. Its pretty easy for some clubs to now act the high road and say they were never going to do this at all.

Some peopel in the midst of this economic meltdown still don't seem to get the scale of the issue. We are ALL on emergency funding right now. every business across the land is looking at this as an economic implosion.
