Greedy, self-centred & arrogant players

What do we make of the preimer league players refusing to back down in taking pay cuts? And if they have tontake one, they want reassured they will get all the money back.

What kind of message is that to send to the public and front line workers, risking their lives for a much lesser income!

And Jordon Henderson at the fore front of all this, gathering all the captains to stand their ground! It really is laughable how greedy and pathetic they are.

Sadly, people will still return to support them, singing their names and filling their ego, when normal returns.

Pathetic bunch of w nkrs

After all, Henderson is already stealing a living.

Aye, no bother, and after all that you come to the conclusion that clubs do not need to pay players due to force majeur 😂😂

----------------------------------------------------------------------
CAUSE THEY DON'T.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So you have consulted with all the clubs, perused all the contracts and fame to this conclusion? In your professional opinion how common is it to have a Force Majeur clause in an employment contract?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
no judge in this country will give a penny to the players when the government as advised that playing is not possible. \its not the clubs fault that should be made to honour player contracts when they are not going to have their contracts honoured for the same reason. do you see the unemployment claims in the US or the EU? do you think companies are even giving employees notice? I am not sure what world you live in.

It’s not the players fault either, and if you think the clubs can just stop paying then I am not sure what planet you are on.

of course they can I dare any player to sue. the clubs are going to have massive shortfalls in their balance sheet. FFP alone is tear them a new one. \why do you think players around \europe have taken pay cuts? don't you think they have lawyers in Spain or Italy?

Look the world has changed. Whenever we come out of this we will be in a deep recession globally. The fact is in this country senior ministers have taken notice. There is a world of hurt coming economically for everyone. The players have painted a large bullseye on their backs by not doing this voluntarily. They have no moral case. Clubs can just not pay them and would do if not for the fact they are terrified whats going to happen on their leveraged loans if the asset prices of their stars drop. You know what thats going to happen anyway when ppl are paying back billions handed out on furloughs and bail outs. Just watch the poo show.

Technically the Clubs can just stop paying but that would have repercussions so why would they do that? It would mean the end of the clubs themselves.

Just because a notion is legally sound as a concept doesn't mean its practicable in real life.

First off they'd face a mountain of litigation. If they don't pay what does that do to the legal status of the contract itself? It would allow players to rip up the contract in the same grounds the clubs are using to not pay them.

Club is left with no players. Paying players is a contractual obligation which clubs would be failing to perform on corona virus grounds. The same argument would then become valid to be used to fail to perform all other obligations in the contract without consequence.

Neither the players nor the clubs can do anything without opening Pandora's box. It has to all be by agreement, not because that's the law but because of MAD, aka Mutually Assured Destruction.

Basically the contract would be terminated under the principle of "frustration", where parties are unable to perform their obligations under a contract through no fault of their own or due to circumstances beyond their control. Covid is a perfect example of such a scenario.

Let’s face, society has been baying for this chance ... not a global pandemic, granted, but a chance to place those on obscene wages under the spotlight. And footballers are the natural target.

The superstars of this hunt would be your billionaire, monarchs , etc,. But let’s be fair the vast majority of people don’t understand business or finance and generally believe that a person can actually earn a billion pounds.

So, footballers! Mostly uneducated, barely a degree amongst a squad, most never worked a real day in their pampered lives and they live an unbelievable existence of essentially being paid to exercise. Even your biggest caveman can understand exercise and kicking a football. No way around it, they are paid too much. It’s not their fault, that’s the going rate and your career Sian is what a decade?

But at a time when millions are out of work, those who were placed on the pedestal will be torn down and stripped. And that’s if they do it humbly, players who publicly complain will tarnish their reputations forever
