Hoping to pick it up tomorrow but if not will download it - how long did it take to download?

Just got it, was a bit confused cos the download was only about 13GB, turns out there's one quick download to let you play the game and another than runs in the background for the rest of it, pretty good

Tu, I'm honestly not sure. My gf played it growing up so she's the one who wants it, gonna play through it with her though so will report back

the premise is the original is the greatest game of all time.

story wise I don't want to give anything away as the story was so deep and inter-winding.

However in short a company is draining the lifeblood of the planet to create energy to fuel a modern lifestyle.

Cloud - the main player character used to work for their private army, now you are being paid to work for a anti shinra (the big bad company) organisation.

For me it was building up the characters developing new skills in a way that i hadnt played before. The story was superb and kept you gripped. It was the first game that i was totally submerged in.

I have the originals on ps1 may give them a go.

Is it an open world game like GTA or is it a linear format?

Apologies for the full questions but I don't want to look anything up in case of spoilers

From what I have read it is a free world set only in Midgar . I believe this is part 1.

The original is probably my favourite game of all time. Definitely in the top 10 best games made. This game does not disappoint. In fact it overdoes itself imo
