Ships have kept cats on board dating back to ancient times. Mostly for their ability to catch mice and rats, and provide companionship/camaraderie for sailors away for long periods of time. The Titanic’s mascot and well-known ship cat, Jenny, was one such cat.
One stoker, Jim Mulholland, volunteered to look after Jenny. The cat had a litter of kittens a week before the ship left from Southampton. But what happened to Jenny?
Jim Mulholland observed Jenny unloading her kittens from the Titanic one by one before it left port in Southampton on April 10th, 108 years ago. He took this as a bad omen, picked up his things, and also evacuated the vessel. He credited the cat with saving his life.
Could it be that cats have a mystic sense for the future? Jenny’s evasive actions certainly point to this possibility...

My ex And I had two cats and they would sit transfixed staring at the front room door for what felt like hours sometimes. Turned out a young lass had ODed in that same room 20+ years prior(it used to be a bedroom).
Other weird shat happened in that house as well but yeah the cats definitely sensed something.
