Albert Chambers - Survivor

A 99-year-old war veteran has left hospital fit and well after recovering from coronavirus. Spent 3 years in a prisoner of war camp. What an inspiration. Going to be 100 years old in July.

If he can do that, why can't everyone stay at home for a few weeks?

We are lucky. Got our phones and tablets and laptops. Can see our relatives and friends via FB and Whatsapp,
Can get our groceries, meals, snacks and booze online and delivered to our door. How much hardship is this?

Very true.

We complain about 3 week on line wait for Tesco deliveries lol.

Am doing meds deliveries around my home town Carrickfergus, and meals on wheels next week, as some older and sick punters cannot get out at all.

These people should have been able to jump queue with stores on-line, as I and you guys can get to shops ok.

It is great to see so many people doing A little to help each other.

Two people over 100 have survived this virus yet teenagers have died. It's a real lottery. I am certain everyone who caught the disease tried to fight it off but for some the odds were stacked against them.

my partner can’t finish her last 2 months needed to graduate as a social worker and has switched to deliver food from our local community kitchen. Enough back story. She’s been delivering food and necessities to the needy WHO ARE KNOWN. She had to hand each item to the hands of an elderly blind couple who wanted to know what everything was. Our neighbour is an 80 y/o woman who now thinks everyone is the mafia against her and won’t talk to us or her family / friends.
Point is the stoic, honourable, stance is hiding a monufu—ingmental secondary effect. Very likely happened in the past too; never hear about the elderly of ww2.
Words of support welcome.

Always been hugely impressed by the humanity evident in these threads, could do with a bit here...

I was watching some programme on pandemics, in the search for a universal flu vaccines

The people hinting for it, seemed to think there was a type who for whatever reason (I didn’t watch far enough ahead to find out) were better prepared immunology wise to others., and that’s where they were concentrating efforts.

Perhaps there is some people (and in life it does seem that way with reference to other common viruses) that just don’t seem to be hit anywhere near as hard..can be seen in any large office environment.
