Joggers are the biggest bunch ofs on the planet right now. Literally puffing and panting around the neighbourhoods oblivious to the fact their actions are the equivalent of walking the streets coughing and spluttering away.s

Silly comment.

I’m a runner (not a jogger) and I can honestly say I run in parks where there is plenty of space and where I can keep a safe distance from other people. I breathe, yes but I don’t cough and splutter as you suggest and nor do I see other runners doing this. And the vast majority of other runners are doing the same in keeping a safe distance from others and running alone.

The issues the police are having is with groups congregating in parks and doing activities which aren’t permitted at all and are not necessary, like having picnics or sunbathing. Those people often stay out a lot longer than joggers. 40 mins and I’m done.

Anyway if you are really that paranoid then just stay indoors

1.5 meters when running is not enough distance a Dutch study shows

----------------------------------------------------------------------

The article heading seems to suggest this applies to walkers as well.

In any case, if you’re paranoid then stay at home.

In the meantime I’ll keep running, thanks
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Of course you will, you're alright jack. You won't know if you actually killed someone through your selfish actions so it won't affect your conscience.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Come on now, no need for that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Why not? It has just been pointed out that running makes the 6ft rule obsolete. Shouldn't that be enough for someone to think 'you know, maybe I just shouldn't do that right now'?

Not if you don't care apparently
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I’ve just been for a run and I kept a safe distance from everyone at all times. At the same time I saw a group congregating who clearly weren’t family.

If you’re upset by me running that’s your problem but maybe your ire should be directed at the idiots hanging in groups.

Because I can't be annoyed at both? Both are acts of selfishness which we have come to expect the last few months.

There is a link on this thread with a study. I am not an expert. But common sense tells you running is different to walking with regard to spread of germs.

No more to say, some folks won't give an inch and have their lives changed even for a month as life is all about them.

Has the source even been verified or scrutinised?

And it’s not a case of not giving an inch. I am giving a wide berth to everyone I pass when I run, far greater than two metres. I am also quite an experienced runner so my breathing is very controlled and I never cough. I am acting in accordance with government instructions and if the government changes the rules I will change my routine accordingly.
