Spurs leading the way again

Brilliant to hear how our club is becoming a wing of the North Middlesex Hospital just up the road in Edmonton.

Statement from the club:
Equipment has now been installed in our stadium to operate drive-through COVID-19 testing and swabbing for NHS staff, families and their dependents. Our Tottenham Hotspur Stadium becomes the first Premier League ground to be used for testing, following on from other sporting venues around the world.

Admin office

Additionally, the stadium has been re-purposed and fitted out to house the North Middlesex Hospital’s Women’s Outpatient Services, freeing up much-needed capacity at the hospital itself to treat patients with COVID symptoms, whilst supporting the redirection of pregnant women away from the hospital during the pandemic.

This will result in recognisable areas of our stadium being transformed for clinical use:

• Our Media Entrance and Café will be used as a main reception and welfare area for visitors and NHS staff.
• The NFL Away changing room areas will be used as a Maternal Day Unit.
• Our Flash interview rooms off of the players’ tunnel – where post-match TV interviews are normally conducted – as well as the referees’ area, will be used as consultation and scanning rooms.
• The football Away dressing room area will be used as a Midwives Clinical Room and staff Admin Office.

This in addition to the stadium also being a food distribution hub

The stadium’s ‘pitch pocket’ in the basement has for several weeks now been used as a distribution hub by the London Food Alliance – a new scheme set up to ensure food supplies for the most vulnerable people within the capital.

Vegetable produce from our Kitchen Garden at the Training Centre is being provided to the food distribution hub.

Our staff have been already been, and others will be joining them, volunteering to support the NHS activities at the stadium.

Out club and Chairman has been much maligned in the last few weeks, but it has once again risen to the occasion, and showed it is right up their with the very best clubs in the world.

Daniel Levy and Spurs

PS I was born in the North Middlesex Hospital. Just think if that had happened 71 years ago, I could have been born in the ground.

Not the time to be attempting to score petty points against teams we consider to be rivals. Congratulations to Spurs for changing this decision. Time to look at the bigger picture, boys. Hope everyone is staying well in these difficult times.

The truth remains Levy had taken the decision to furlough non playing staff, and would then gone to a financially critical county to recover the cost of this, whilst continuing to trouser millions from what can only be described as impressive business acumen and investment.

In fairness and credit to Spurs fans, you rose pretty much in one voice to denounce this shameful attempt to scrounge off a fund designed to save needy businesses and put food on the table for millions whereas without it, who knows what they would have eaten, unlike the Liverpool fans that leapt to the defence of the Liverpool board in equally shameful behaviour.

Out of all this Levy does not deserve the credit for the U turn, you do.

There is a sub plot to all this. I have read on SC that Levy only reversed the decision due the players entering wage negioations/cuts on the premise that furloughing non playing staff being reversed.

not too bothered about the furlough thing.. the club are within their rights to do it even though it is a bit shiiiit... loads of bigger companies than spurs are doing it and it will be to protect their jobs in the longer run.

was more talking about the opening up of the stadium to be a massive help.

Agreed and in light of Levy opening the stadium to the NHS, furloughing staff would seem to be a good deal when you look at the plans he has revealed.
