The Amazon Arena?

Tottenham are hoping to seal the most lucrative stadium naming rights agreement in history with Amazon keen on £250m deal.

Spurs’ hunt for a key sponsor appears to be nearly done with reports claiming Amazon have entered the race to buy the naming rights for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

According to the Daily Mail, Daniel Levy is hoping for a deal worth up to £25 million a year over a decade, which would make Spurs’ stadium naming rights agreement the most lucrative in history.

Amazon are currently worth a staggering £1.1 trillion and they have a working relationship with Tottenham due to the documentary being filmed by the American company tracking Spurs’ 2019/20 season.

Obviously, this is The Daily Fail and Talkshiete, so massive buckets of salt, but it is no secret Levy is looking for a naming partner.

“ Successful clubs don’t get a whole transfer window and not spend a single penny. ”

Liverpool just did last summer
----------------------------------------------------------------------

In general successful clubs improve every season. Liverpool were a rare case, but they were so good the year before and so ahead of every club, they didn’t really need to improve. Spurs on the other hand desperately needed reinforcements that summer and failed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well clubs don't all improve every year Don, otherwise no club would ever get relegated.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Big top successful clubs do mate. They don’t stand still like we did that summer. Sorry mate, ridiculous decision by levy and Co, which has basically cost us massively as we are struggling now because of it.

Would there not be a conflict of interest considering they have a TV deal with the Prem?

I think the Amazon Stadium sounds brilliant btw. Fingers crossed.

Spurs are probably one of the best placed clubs to come out of a crisis like this, we are in a good financial position with record turnover and profits, an easily manageable stadium repayment plan and the lowest percentage of turnover spent on wages in the PL.

Spurs are spending around 40% of turnover on wages, whereas most other clubs are paying out a far higher percentage, some of the other top clubs are paying 65% - 75% of turnover on wages and some even higher than that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is where Levy's financial model is brilliant.

If the stadium meant spending restrictions, which it shouldn't noting ffp, then it's a cursed sword in ways, as it's cost spurs top 4. If the money isn't reinvested ASAP I feel spurs will fall further away unfort

As always and lots of Spurs fans seem to lap it up. Get all excited because the club are raking in profits, but it does nothing to you as a supporter. What the hell does Spurs making record profits etc do to me? I don’t get any satisfaction from that. Wouldn’t mind if the club actually invested a lot of that money into the playing squad, but they never do. Will be another pat on the back for Levy for balancing the books. Load of s*** with this lot all the time.
——————————

What Levy is doing is guaranteeing that we will still have a cub in years to come.

A lot of clubs are in dire financial straits with only the television money keeping them afloat in recent years. Bournemouth for one pay out around 83% of their income on wages.
They actually lost over £10million last year trying to just stay in the PL.

This is unsustainable going forward, lots of other clubs will fall not this category in the coming months.

However Spurs will not be under threat because of our business model, we are a profitable and sustainable club. Yes, we need to improve hugely on this season’s performance, however we have not been too shabby in recent years.

My only complaints were the swapping of Jose for Poch, and a failure to get another striker.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

For a club of our structure and size, not being to “shabby “ Just doesn’t cut it mate. I think 1 league cup in over 20 years is bloody atrocious. Chances are we won’t be playing in the champions league next season either, so we can’t even use that old chestnut anymore. The club have let the supporters down mate by not pushing forward when we should of. Other clubs have now overtaken us like Leicester etc and it’s going to be even harder now. Being in profit and balancing the books does f*** all for me mate, I want to see this club win trophies for once.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Leicester have not overtaken Spurs, and never in all probability will. They are having about their second best year in their history, and like when they had their best year in their history, will soon drop back to mid table next season in all probability.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In terms of performance on the pitch the table doesn't lie.

Spurs are behind Leicester in that regard. Profits and turn over are only good if you invest the money wisely. It's fair to say spurs haven't done this over the last 3-4 years. Money in the bank doesn't win you points unfortunately

Spurs will bounce back next season when they get their big hitters like Kane and Son back.

Amusing how Spurs are getting completely written off and supposedly dropping back to midtable. Not a chance of that happening with the players they have.

Expect a strong challenge again next season, if it ever gets played, with a fully fit squad.

Spurs are one of the only clubs in the Prem, other than City to have played CL football for the past four seasons. So you are posting nonsense saying they have not done well over past 3 or 4 seasons.

I would hope that "Amazon Stadium" does not attract the stench that this company is attracting in France and elsewhere (USA for example).
Their attitude to their employees is, to put it mildly, NOT THE BEST.

Jeff Bezos is now the richest man in the world with a current net worth of $139.4 billion (USD) !!!
He's bought up almost everything he can, including the Whole Foods grocery chain where I shop.
And immediately, the quality of items, and array of items, went down. Profit before everything!

But to those Spurs fans who like the ring of "Amazon Stadium"...beware ... this may be the first move..........he might just buy the club!
Perhaps this is a Levy plan, long term?

Well, then, Bezos ain't known for paying top wages .....
SO, BEWARE WHAT YOU WISH FOR......
Bezos is Levy in spades!
And you might just get that ......
