Are Jose,s Tactics

outdated or are players just not good enough to understand what he is preaching?

As much as I don't want him as manager his trophy haul is second to none , even at Utd , he won trophies.

Is he just a one trick pony in a one trick circus ? Or is he the man to take us to the next level?

Any team will suffer if they lose their two best attackers for an extended period of time. But that doesn’t excuse the inability to organise the team defensively - and Spurs still look poor in that regard. The lack of individual quality doesn’t help, obviously, but they are still to look like a Mourinho team in terms of defensive structure.

Jury out as to whether Jose has changed his spots!

Before all the injuries i think there were signs that he had, but also that he was still that defensive manager at heart.

For sure some of the quality has not helped him make his plan work

The injuries have really hampered it.

And the form of some players and individual error have cost us too and made it hard to have any consistency.

All in all it is a VERY unsettled situation at Spurs and that will frustrate Jose massively and we will never get the best out of any squad we have if it is unsettled in this way by so many factors.

If this season gets going again it will be telling to see our quality going forward. Yes we need a few new player anyway but we should see Jose's true tactics and approach to games, unaffected by many of these unsettling factors that have blighted his time so far.

If people are putting the form down to 2 players then the rot has already sunk in. City and pool have consistently had injuries but they don't put all their hopes on one striker.

The footballs been dire. Who has he improved or looks like improving? Can't name anyone tbh.
VAR and a few wins where spurs were 2nd best have papered over the cracks for some it seems.
Ironic they are the first posters to call out other teams for getting favourable VAR decisions 😅

How can you compare City, a club funded by a State with unlimited funds, to Spurs who gsve to live within their means, and cannot afford two expensive players for every position like City can.

You do seem to have a very unhealthy obsession with Spurs.

Liverpool have had no major injuries to any of their main men. Take Salah, Mane and VVD out of their team at the same time, and see how they perform.

And despite me constantly telling you, I'm a spurs fan. Maybe that explains me commenting on them 😅
Oh I forgot, you can't criticise spurs if you're a fan...
And Liverpool beat Barca 4-0 at home with lots of big players out. It's a squad game.
If two players are what separates a good team from a bad one, then the squad isn't upto scratch.
Spurs have sacks of cash they just don't invest it effectively or in a timely manner. That's why the squads been allowed to age and the club are posting record profits, whilst slipping out of the CL places.
Spurs have been the authors of their own misfortune, as now everyone knows they have loads of cash but pay mediocre wages, compared to rival teams and the value levy will put on them.
Who will want to reew their deal under joss football?
Who will want to resign when you don't earn a wage in keeping with the club's value?
What attacking players want to join spurs to play in a stagnant system?
You make good points sometimes sandy but your problem is you're dillusion regarding other teams.
Pool and city have had injuries to their big players.
Their sub keeper, origi and lovren are a huge drop in quality.
Spurs have lamela, berg, mourna, alli and a few other attacking options. This nonsense about Lane and son needs to stop really or you're just admitting spurs aren't a big team anymore.

giving the manager time is usually a good and realistic thing. with jose its throwing good money after bad.
most fans see it was a desperate move by levy. easier to change the manager than most of the under performing players. his time with man utd showed that he no longer had the tactical nous to even set up against inferior opposition. the cups he won couldn't have been set up better if jose wrote the script himself, spurs fans shouldn't look for that to repeat again. although pep seems to get a lot of favorable draws when you think about it so maybe there's a slight chance he'll luck his way to a final again.
not the manager i would want with levy holding the purse strings.

If you take the two best forwards out of any team they’ll suffer. City are probably the only team that have the squad to cop. Watch Barca without Messi and Suarez and they’re ordinary, for example.

Spurs should be coping much better with the resources and players they have. Remember lots of these same posters are the first to also say the PL has never been so bad.

The defence hasn't looked solid and there seems little balance, even excluding up top. Too many square pegs in round holes and players looking lost. The squad is better than some of the performances suggest but some fans are just annoyed they can't blame potch anymore.

In attack not really. They have nobody in the squad close to the quality of Son and Kane. The defence is a separate issue.

To be fair, we have had key injuries, compounded by the abject failure of our £60m signing, Lo Celso is starting to find his feet and just when he does Kane and Son are out, Eriksen refused to leave to Utd and then played crap . AT times Moura has been the only fit attacker out of 4.

The circumstances within which we are trying to move this club forward have been pretty poor, added to by issues off the pitch.

Its not just Jose either. We've been falling backwards now for a year and while Levy takes a lot of blame for the 'no signing' summer, Poch was also culpable. I think he hid a bit behind Levy's reputation when it came to signings. Refusing some players knowing Levy gets the stick at the end of the day.
