Broken iphone help

Hi guys

I appear to be having problems with my iphone. It's been on the apple logo screen for about an hour, though intermittently is going blank and then returning. I've tried rebooting by holding the middle and side button but the same thing is happening.

It's quite an old model iphone 6s, which I acquired in January 2017 so I suspect its a battery issue. This morning it was on but I couldn't access some apps and it appeared to be full. I tried deleting videos but when I deleted them they just returned, so I switched the phone off and haven't been able to get it back on again.

I've had a look on ismash website but of course their London stores are all closed due to covid-19. I have sent them an email with the issue but I don't know how long they'll take to respond.

Anyone have any brainwaves about this? I really need it fixed as its the only way I keep in touch with friends and arrange looking after my elderly mother with family. It's also linked to my work cloud access so I need it working asap.

Thanks !

Cheers Ted

I took it to a shop (not sure they should have been open ) and paid £40 for them to reboot it, but I lost all my data, photos, videos etc

----------------------------------------------------------------------

well I'm not really sure

When I went into icloud back up on the phone, it says the icloud is full, but all my photos and videos are gone from the phone. So presumably my stuff is somewhere. But I don't ever remember setting up icloud or backing stuff up. Where would I get that?

Also, I don't know if anyone has had this, but this morning when I went to charge the phone, the charger physically wouldn't go into the phone. So when the battery runs out I won't be able to get it back on. So hopefully the shop is open tomorrow so I can go in and ask them to fix this.

Anyone know why that might be? This is doing my head in

Maybe the phone is just f*cked?

Not sure about the iCloud, but when I’ve got my last two phones I just entered my Apple ID and all my sh*t just transferred over like magic!

Your charging point sounds knackered, you will need it replaced which should cost around £50-60. It’s a unit and the whole lot needs replacing. Had it done myself, don’t go too Apple though, unless you want to pay around £175.
