Joey Barton

Morning troops.

Wee Joey has been running his mouth about the Scottish game and it's players in it again, not all of it is bad for a change but he didn't miss his old teammate either.

First in the firing line is James Tavernier:

""When Senderos is sent off he makes a substitution which puts me as the middle man of a back three with Lee Wallace and Tav [James Tavernier] right and left side centre half of a back three with ten-men against Celtic and we are already behind.

Now Tav can't defend. Everybody knows that.

He is great going forward, whips a great ball in but can't defend for toffee.

That's why he has never kicked on."

After that it was Scott Brown:

"He has had a phenomenal career, but there's a reason he hasn't come to the Premier League, a reason he hasn't come and mixed it in the big shark tank down here.

"If he had done he would probably get a lot more respect because he is a good player, there's no doubt a bout it, I've seen it on the European nights."

Followed by praise of Barry Ferguson and Neil Lennon and then a final snipe at Scottish fitbaw and how you need to be recognised as a player in Europe by playing in England.

"Barry Ferguson to his credit, he came down here, Lennon came down here, they've all come down here.

"So to have yourself as a serious European player you have got to come to England.

"If you are the top boy in Scotland you have got to come and have a go in the Premier League."

He undoubtedly had a decent career down south but he was absolutely hanging out his erse up here, couldn't handle the pace of the game and was ultimately sent packing very quickly.

know who u sound like, the trump fans in america

"can't treat us like idiots man"

denying the virus exists, while wearing a mask.

Keeping this going will save lives which is a priority over convenience.

as i have said before, herd immunity was a sick idea that basically accepted the weakest among us would suffer.

i dont think continuing the be cautious until.a vaccine is available is wrong, i think it will save lives.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well you're wrong

It's starting to cost lives and they will soon outstrip those lost as a direct result of this virus.

How does 60,000 plus deaths from untreated and non confirmed cases of cancer grab you?

And that's before we even start on depression and pretty much everything else.

We now have more capacity in hospitals and in ICU than we did before this thing came along and that's not counting the newly built field hospitals.

I won't even go into the economic argument because you don't even contribute

if we have capacity in ICU etc why are thousands of people being left to die in care homes and in their own homes?

I think they're right.

Like everything else mate they were just so unprepared and my thoughts fwiw are that nobody really considered them until the damage was being done.

UEFA are about to give the green light to the SPFL to award the league up here and rightfully so there's no chance of spectator sport in this country this year at least

the behind closed door approach is a non starter, can you imagine an old firm behind closed doors, people flocking to each others houses, people heading outside the stadiums etc

social distancing is with us until their is a working vaccine or a reliable antibody test and none will be with us for at least a year

++

Strange that you are slating our First Minister on this thread for saying what you are saying in another thread!!

cancer treatment must continue but that cant happen if this gets out of control, there must be a way to manage both.

also by telling people to be careful and maintain social distancing it will help keep it at bay at people will be able to get treatment for other conditions.

if it gets out of control that wont happen.

as to the care homes, its as if those are a side thought and itd absolute phish.

why?

because they are full of old people, many of whom have conditions which keep them there.

as i say, operation "fvck the weak" is goin swimmingly.

The problem we have is that everyone is terrified and the older generation who are most at risk will maybe have some code of conduct that they don't want to "bother" the doc while all this is going on.

Many I think will be petrified of going anywhere near a hospital and I can't say I'm surprised as every image we see is one of struggle, people on ventilators and health care staff clad in space gear. Then there's the continuing increase of front line staff being affected and dying.

It is being recognised in a number of well placed trains of thought that this is happening right now and hence the estimates of up to 60,000 cancer patients not being caught in time and diagnosed and treated.

The old people's care homes and places for the vulnerable have been an afterthought. I don't think anyone will disagree on that.

As for "fwck the weak" that's just nonsense. Everything is being done to protect the weak and they will be the last group to have any lifting of restrictions so that they are protected further.

They also happen to be over 90% of the death toll and for the reason that they are weaker, their immune system is weaker so inevitably they will be the ones who suffer most.
