Sorry mate, but he won nothing in his five years at Spurs with Spurs best team in a generation. His time has come and gone.

We have moved on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who assembled that team on a budget far lower than rival clubs?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Most of that the best players were there before Pochettino arrived. So no he didn`t actually assemble the team. The previous managers did.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah Poch was just living off the kingdom that AVB and Tim Sherwood built -
----------------------------------------------------------------------
out loud

Then why didn’t we win trophies with those players before Poch arrived. If, as you say, it was the best team in a generation ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Most were at the start of their careers. Pochettino had more time than any previous Spurs manager since the Prem started to win a trophy, and he didn`t. He was an OK manager, but he is getting elevated far too high. Plenty of other managers could have worked with the same set of players and won something.

Agree but should have won a trophy. Every other top 6 club won a trophy whilst we didn't.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Liverpool won one (I believe?). And it could've gone our way. We're talking about a one-off game which the victor is hailed one of the best managers around and the other is sacked shortly after.

Fine margins.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Mate, im not disagreeing with you. I get fine margins and all that. I loved Poch but I still think he should have won us a trophy with the best squad we have had in decades

----------------------------------------------------------------------
He was in a similar boat to Klopp at Liverpool before Klopp got some real money to spend, although Poch had to deal with a change of stadium, no money to spend for a year, and still performed better in the league than Liverpool.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Us signing vvd Alisson and fabinho when spurs signed no one was the difference, both sides were on a par but we spent serious money on top players and spurs didn't which is a pity for spurs cause that was the real opportunity to go to the next level.

But you did build a savage new ground so in the long run it could work out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nah, you only brought two decent players, that shouldn`t have made that much of a difference. Our manager just could not motivate the team to win. He dismissed domestic trophies like they didn`t matter. That is pretty unforgiveable in my book.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Did he dismiss the FA cup semi finals in 2017 and 2018 when our strongest teams were fielded and we lost both ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We didn`t field our strongest team in 2018, I think he left Lloris and Toby out.

Best team in his generation? before he took over the same players were at best, average and we struggling to eve break into top 5?

The danger is that years from now, we would look back at the reign of Jose and wince. Wasted years. I have not been convinced at all by Jose. Not a bit. Not even after giving him all the benefits of doubt.
With Poch, we knew what style of football we would play. Pressing from the front and a high line.

With Jose, I think he wings it every game

Yes, he's won trophies but look at how left those clubs, Decimated and savaged.
Yes he's won the trophies but he has been out of the game for a long time, does he have it in him to take a club that hardly invests in players and likes to do cheaply to the heights of winning a trophy?
Right now I think we would even struggle to get into CL and yet we were in the finals last year.
Sorry but I can only say what I see and feel.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Spurs made top four twice, top five twice, in the previous four years before Poch turned up. So not right to say Spurs were struggling to get in the top five. They weren`t.

Over the last few years Spurs have had the best full backs in Europe/England, best CBs in England/Europe, the best midfield in England, the best striker in the world and a ‘world class’ goalkeeper

If Poch couldn’t win a trophy with all the above considered he’s not gonna win you one with this lot
----------------------------------------------------------------------

If Ranieri can win a title with Leicester. Then what is to stop a serial winner like Jose winning trophies with Spurs. That`s how football works. Each season is different.

Writing of Jose and Spurs would be ridiculous.

Leicester winning was a freak season when the big clubs were all transitioning. That's why they managed to win the title with a low tally.

Mind you if we avoid European football altogether we might stand a chance of winning something I suppose.

Lloris might have been injured, can’t remember. Toby was injured consistently throughout that season, and therefore Sanchez played, who was a £42m defender and who should be an able replacement.
