When the lockdown is eased, and

I doubt it will be anytime soon, but eventually it will have to be eased. Given that social distancing seems to be the biggest criteria for keeping Covid at bay, how will commuters travel to work?

Take London for example, most underground trains, people are packed in like sardines, for several hours a day, morning and evening rush-hour. Commuter trains coming into London terminals are usually full to bursting early morning, and evening, buses much the same. So how will social distancing be kept. Any ideas? Or will it just be take a chance that you don`t catch the virus.

This will be a huge problem in my opinion.

People keep working from home. I dont see a problem in that. Our business is already talking about people never again having to come back to the office. This means that only the ones who cant work from home go to work. Pollution and congestion will be down significantly. This virus has shown us that at least.

Yeah and the bigger picture will be do they won’t need half of you in the future!

Great outlook to have though

Based on what?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Based on the fact that the company I work for made the 300-400 office staff from our site work from home along with office staff from other sites plus the head office down South and they are talking about redundancies.

I dare say they’ll be looking at how long people actually work when at home, doubt very much everyone has worked a full day.

If people are more productive working from home then it’s better for the company

Since me and my team have been working from home, I'd say performance has probably gone up if anything. People don't quite get the balance right yet as they tend to log on earlier and tend to have fewer breaks. Get that right and I think WFH can be as productive, if not more.

Makes no sense at all.

It does when you see what goes off in the office block, there’s many of them doing very little when they’re in the office never mind at home!

I think in the grand scheme of things this situation has given the company an excuse to sort it out and about time too!

Our manager was saying there’s going to be a whole new way of working coming out of this and some very sad people.

Yes and I firmly believe it won’t be just my company who will be restructuring and changing the way people work on the back of this!

Better for the world too......
lot less pollution as seen by satellite from space,
due to less travel....and...
canals in Venice are clear now since no more cruise ships barging in....
and oil prices are rock bottom.

Way to go even when recovery happens!
