Will it feel the same?

United fan in peace.

So it looks like the aim is finish the season this summer behind closed doors at neutral venues.

Personally I think the season should be finished but think its all being a bit too rushed.

Anyway let’s get the point of the article.

So one of a few things that is inevitable when the season does return is Liverpool winning the league and deservedly so. You’ve been a relentless winning machine up until recently.

As a United fan I’ve never seen Liverpool win the league in my lifetime and never wanted to but I’d accepted it 6 months ago and now with it happening behind closed doors at a neutral venue to me it doesn’t really feel like you are winning the league.

Again not on the wum but it kind of just feels like a stat now because we won’t have to watch mass celebrations in front of a full Anfield or bus parades etc. (not that I’d have watched anyway but there would have been no avoiding it)

So after 30 long years of a wait will you still enjoy it as much as ever or is it anti-climatic?

a) the basic answer is no in both terms.of the inevitable title victory and in terms of football in general. I turned I to utd playing their last europa game behind d closed door as it was quite odd, poor and that wasnt even just utd!!!

b) you are on the wum but probably bored out of your tree.

I imagine it'll be one of the most remembered titles wins for decades if not centuries

Will it happen though. It is so obvious Brighton are desperate the league gets cancelled. They are complaining about games being played neutral venues. I think anything you propose to them they will keep rejecting it. They need to just bit on majority I feel to get anywhere.

If (and it's quite likely) crowds won't be able to attend for at least a year then behind closed doors games are the only realistic option that sees football clubs not go under.

Players should be free to choose whether they want to be involved in this and not be paid fully/possibly at all if they don't.

You'd need a full lockdown for them and their families, plus all others associated with the restart if it goes ahead. Essentially creating an island of football.

Regards your second paragraph, what would happen if all the players from one team claimed they "didn't feel it was safe"? Can they be punished for that, or would they have reasonable grounds, anyone know?

It will feel terrible winning the league title. I don't know I or other LFC fans will cope with that..

IMO if you cannot continue to provided the services your employer hired you to provide then the contract is frustrated and all parties are free to go their separate ways if they so wish.

Good article 👍

As a massive Liverpool fan to I’m desperate to win the league is the biggest understatement ever. I’d take 1 league title over 3 European cups.

The atmosphere in and around the city would have surpassed anything that’s gone before it.

Watching Leicester win the league was really good as it didn’t hurt like when Utd win it or you get pipped by City. Their celebrations with Andrea Bocelli where superb but the scenes in Liverpool would have made that look like a 2 year olds birthday party in the kitchen

Of course I want to win the league and I think whatever happens we will win it or be told that we’ve won it but any scenario now, closed doors, neutral venues etc will take away 99% of the enjoyment away

what is strange is the climax of winning it after 30 years will never exist in the same way that it normally would. Of course we'll be over the moon but it will be different.
Will totally accept it though as Liverpool deserve it being so far ahead and don't care what rivals say.

However same for the champions league, it's supposedly going to be done over 3 weeks. Personally I think that gives City a big chance of winning it. It's a different format.

Either it's LFCs or bin the season. The state of limbo that we are currently in will not be resolved any time soon.
