Stevie G......

A collection of some of his best goals for us, and when you watch it you realise just how well he could strike the ball, so consistently.

Also, how would he fit into our current team at the peak of his form?

I know of some fans in Cairo, at a place I watch games when I'm there and every time a pile driver smacks the back of the net they jump and exclaim "Wavu!" Sometimes it doesn't even go in and they've already said it.

I don't know what it means but it sounds absolutely cool as the ball flies in. Like acknowledgment, you know.

If they watched this there'd be a lot of "Wavu!" going around.

Anywhere he wanted in your central midfield. Absolutely class player at his peak and easily always my choice in the eternal "Gerrard, Scholes or Lampard?" debate.

One of the possible translations of "wavu" is "net" so I suppose they are shouting "GOAL!".

As a neutral, I'd say at his peak Gerrard was absolutely world class. One of the best players the Prem has ever seen. I agree with the comment above RE Scholes/Lampard/Gerrard debate. In my opinion, Gerrard was ahead of both.

At his peak, he would have got into any side in the world. So, would obviously get into your side now ahead of anyone.

Absolutely. My question was more about the role he would play in the current squad, rather than if he’d play at all 👍

Think he'd be behind Firmino with Hendo and one other behind him.

He would take any midfield or attacking role off any player. He would even take trents rb position in his prime.
Gerrard, lampard and Scholes were all a bit different but all immense. Gerrard was more versatile though.
I think in the current top 11 only the keeper and virgil wouldn't be sweating for their shirt 😅

He'll easily take up any of the roles ahead of our holding midfielder. Can you imagine Mane & Salah running onto his quick releases from midfield. That was bread & butter for Torres & Owen.
