Sunderland 'Til I Die

I thought Rangers of recent years have been a 'car crash' but having just started watching this - well, Sunderland really were/are 'p!ssing on our chips' for being in a 2 & 8.

Glad to see Martin Bain still acting the smarmy, perma-tanned erse that he always was though.

Recommend it if you fancy watching one of these 'inside a club' documentaries though.

Bain does come across as an utter phuqqin idiot. I can see why Murray employed him now.

He clearly isn't an idiot otherwise he wouldn't be in the current predicament that he is, i.e - home and dry for the rest of his life.

I would've thought that the hatred of Murray/Bain would've subsided (especially given the strength of Celtic) by now - clearly not.

I wouldn’t equate someone having a bit of cash with him not being an idiot tbh.

I have met plenty of rich factors in my time.

Some were born into it, some got lucky and some managed to get away with climbing the ladder high enough to be pretty well set before they were found out.

Bain comes across as an utter tool in STID.

He might be good at something but it’s not running a football club through hard times in the NE of England.

Second season of STID is dull as fook btw.

I always thought the Bain / Kevin Kyle rumour was just that. Angered me when it came from the horse’s mouth.

An idiot playing with money that want his. Fernando should have drowned him that day

The second season was just as good i thought

Maja absolutely at it while doing them the dirty in the background, a proper rat bastirt.

Seeing the chairman lose his head and end up spunking daft money on Grigg who ends up being total schite.

Jack Ross generally being schite, McGeady seething he's still at the club. Clutching defeat from the jaws of victory in the Cup Final then again in the league. All enjoyable factors.

A Rangers one would have been a massive riddy, even now i'm not sure it would be much better. I still think we have too many numpties making statements, much like this dossier than won't exist.

Agree the Will Grigg thing was one of the most farcical things I have ever seen.

There was a pretty intense debate early on when they reluctantly upped their offer to £1.25m.

Fast forward about eight bids later they and they ended up spunking £3m plus another £1m add on for a guy who didn't even fit into the way they played.

Other that that there was no real drama though and I thought it was a bit of a let down.

The boy they brought in was better than Bain but he still completely failed to engage with his staff. He never really got them on board from the off by standing there in his red chinos telling them how badly they had done their jobs.

You couldn't of blamed that irish lass if she had given him a swift kick in the baws and told him where to stuff his job.

The QPR documentary is a pretty good watch - its on Amazon I think. Covers the period when Briatore bought over the club.

That was a bit nuts. He basically wanted to sack the manager every time they let a goal in

The Four Year Plan I think it was called.

The Grigg purchase was insanely entertaining. Although probably not for Sunderland fans watching their chairman going tonto over him.

I really enjoyed both seasons of the show though. The Leeds one was good too.
